why do we need big houses? OK kids come along, they need space, etc, etc. But there are people who live minimally.

Maybe it is time to look at this?

    etc...etc...

    Some people want a larger house to accommodate their growing families, and I agree with that because most people appreciate the ability to have their own space.

    Once the kids leave home, some parents keep their big house so the kids have a place to stay when they come to visit with their own growing families...

    ... Other parents reduce to a small house . . . so they DON'T have as much room for company! lol

    Space is nice. But for some, privacy is better.

    I had SO many plans, etc... My mother managed the shipping from California, and missed a LOT of stuff and got rid of other stuff. Maybe it was alzheimers, who knows... Anyway, the result is less space utilization and less storage. Other plans didn't work out either. My place is huge by comparison.

    That 78sf place has a certain charm. He has to keep things neat, reduce waste, etc..

      Well maybe another tiny house alongside when the kids want their space? Eventually we would have "Tiny house village" LOL

      Like a lot of people we have horded stuff we have in storage, cluttering our attic space, cupboards, garage and rooms. This has been an issue of late. We are first going to hit our local free ads selling stuff, ebay and other means of getting rid of the clutter. The tiny house is now appealing to me.

    I can totally relate to only needing a small home - but I think that what I'm seeing with these types of housing goes just a tad too far. A full kitchen and bath at least - you can put fold-a-beds in a living room and do with just the three rooms with a few decent sized closets, but any further downsizing than that would be majorly difficult to live in long term.
