This is just a silly topic I just came up with after reading various IM forum threads all over the internet. It is simply for pure fun and curiosity so I hope no one gets offended by this. So here we go.

Since a lot of us here in Warrior Forum are Internet marketers and work our arse off on the daily basis with passion. What if somehow you inevitably developed either ADHD or OCD for one entire week. Which disorder do you think you will choose if you were given the option. Why?

ADHD = Attention Deficit Hyper Disorder

OCD = Obsessive Compulsive Disorder

I already lean strongly towards OCD. Know how I know? The first thing I wanted to do here was edit YOUR post and correct the title to OCD instead of OCB, and then it occurred to me I'd have to fix the tags as well. ROFLMAO!!

Here's another way my OCD helps, though: I was reading Shay's post about writing on Sat night just past, and I got the urge to start writing. It was more of an urge...it was more like "DO IT NOW DO IT NOW DO IT NOW" over and over inside of me.

    So I pulled up MS-Word.

That was around 10pm. At 5am I finished my first ever ebook. Almost 4500 words, 15 pages. I never even got sleepy, which is odd because I have trouble after 11pm on most nights.

ADHD...well...I also have like 4 other projects I'm working on right now as well. Maybe both are pretty good to me.

I think they taunt people with Obsessive Compulsive Disorder in calling it OCD.

We just want to put everything in it's proper order and therefore it should be CDO, hello? :p

nah - you're thinking of dyslexia.

As long as both are treatable via natural methods, I wouldn't care - I would just have them do what is necessary to get rid of the crap. People depend on Doctors and drugs for EVERYTHING, I swear it. Since most of those symptoms revolve around crap we do to ourselves - VitD3 deficiency, toxic food additives, etc and so forth - I'd just use either diagnosis to plan a rigorous regime that would get rid of the ****. Sometimes it really IS that simple.

I agree with you on the all natural way to go! That's how I treated my son many moons ago. I'm still writing my eBook on the journey of it.

Don't get me started on schools diagnosing! ADHD my eye! He was gifted with a high IQ, a creative type and a kinetic learner! Idiots!

But to get back on topic, I don't have either of the above mentioned or dyslexia, I'm just, well, I'm just me!

Oh crap, Terra. I'm so sorry. There is absolutely NO cure for that!

              LOL Sal!

Well, on the plus side, I'm not contagious, and if one wanted, they could wash their hands of me.

That wouldn't guarantee me not coming back though...

              I could cause OCD!

Congrats on finishing your very first ebook. Yeah, I totally know what you mean about finishing a major project. I sometimes become obsess finishing a project such as a wordpress website when its almost done because I still have the energy and the motivation at that moment even though its past my bedtime.

Well, I think you're talking about a person being a perfectionists. But there is nothing wrong with a perfectionist individuals because they tend to work harder to create flawless results.

Well, if I had ADHD...after a couple of minutes, I probably wouldn't care either way...

But if I had OCD - I would probably obsess about which one I had until it drove me CrAzY!

(and btw: You just TRY looking up "anal retentive" in the dictionary - it's not in there...because I looked...and looked - and looked -and looked -and looked -and looked -and looked -and looked -and looked - and looked -and looked -

and looked...and I still didn't find it!...(maybe I should look again? :rolleyes

    or worse yet...
What if you were schizophrenic, and one personality had ADHD, and the other one was OCD??

This is ridiculous, I have had many people tell me I have ADH...

      Oh,Look! Avocados on sale!

And OCD. Yes Indeed. Totally wash my hands and/or use hand sanitizer dozens of times throughout the day.

sidebar: Did you know that gas station pump handles are proven to be more bacteria laden than the toilets at said gas stations?

        LOL. Your hilarious man.

BTW, are those rayban sunglasses you're wearing?

On the side note. OCD will help you accomplish your project and finish it to the end.

  • OK, all you "Monks" out there...how many of you are compelled to straighten pictures that are crooked on a wall...even if it is in an Art Gallery? (I must admit, I do that)

I used to know a girl, that would lie awake in bed at night wondering if the magazines on her coffee table were stacked correctly ...

    Seriously.

And then would get up to double check.

(I used to love messing with her mind :p)

I would take OCD for a week just because it might give me the motivation I need to get my house spick and span!

Although, knowing my luck I would get OCD over something completely stupid like checking 1000 times a day to make sure I was wearing underwear or something

I think I would also go with OCD because you only have to worry about doing one task at a time. Where as for ADHD your mind, time, and energy are pulled in multiple directions that its harder to get accomplish and finish anything.
