The summer is coming and there is no summer without barbecuing!

So what's your favorite BBQ food?

My favorites is:

-Marinated chicken clubs wrapped in a tick layer of bacon and then drowned in marinade once again.

-Marinated pork ribs.

-Marinated chops.

-Baked potatoes with a lot of butter.

-Marinated salmon with lemon pepper.

-Corn cobs with a lot of butter and vinegar.

So what's your favorite BBQ food?

I Googeled it and learned something new today also :

      Barbecue

Long, low, and slow. The low temperature and the resulting length of time the meat is cooked allows for the food to soak up the smoke and rub flavors, and to become very tender and moist. Think ribs, pork shoulder, and brisket as barbecue.

      Grilling

This is the method with which most people are familiar. It is the method of cooking food hot and fast on your grill. Burgers, chicken, steak, and seafood are typically grilled, but you can also grill vegetables and even fruit.

        Now you got it
I've got two different cookers I use, one for grilling and one for bbq.
I have an old Weber like this One-Touch® Silver 22.5" Grill from Weber Grills and Accessories that I'll only burn charcoal in for grilling and a smoker similar to this Medina River Backyard Large Charcoal Smoker Grill that I'll only burn wood in for bbq.
My absolute favorite thing to bbq is a fresh beef brisket or tri-tip. I'll make up a rub for it and rub it down the night before I cook it, then it's 8 to 12 hours in the cooker with an apple wood fire in the fire box, keeping the heat down to under 200 F.
I never put bbq sauce on the meat when I'm cooking it but have a bowl of sauce ready for dipping while eating.

Where is the double thanks button?
I'm getting hungry just thinking about it. My father-in-law built us a brick smoker so rain, snow or shine we'll barbecue. It takes my husband 2 days to make his pulled pork. Prepare the secret rub, 18-24 hour marinate and 15 hour slow cook. I fall in love all over again with every bite. Oh my.

But I don't mind grilling. It's quick and it's pointless to bbq hotdogs.

I need that double thanks button for you also
When my wife was alive we bbq'd or grilled 3 or more nights a week. Grilling during the week and bbq on Sunday. Every holiday the meat was cooked outdoors on the bbq.
I've gotten some strange looks from people when I'm standing outside in a snow storm smokin a Turkey on the q
By the way, pulled pork is my second favorite thing to bbq

I like grilling myself, like with the hotdogs there are alot of good things to grill that are just plain stupid to bbq.

          Mmmmm!

Thom, you're making my mouth water.

Hubby is amazing with the barbeque and we just bought our annual quarter cow, grain fed naturally, from our buddy who raises them. Anyway, that is what we're having for our holiday cook out, the beef brisket, slow cooked in the barbecue. Yum!

Now look what you've done! Excuse me while I go and get a napkin to wipe the drool running down down my chin.

I use mostly apple because of the 2 apple trees in my yard
I'll also use maple, oak, and hickory.
One of the things I really like about bbq is the variety of flavors you can come up with just by changing the wood you use.
When I want Mesquite I go to the local pros, who by the way are from Texas Tex's BBQ
Their brisket is cut with a fork tender and so good I have it every year on my birthday (plus at least once every couple of months).

No doubt about it ... I want to come over to your houses and let you good folks fix your specialty for me.

For me, I'm almost ashamed to admit it after what everyone else has said, but hot dogs on the grill are my favorite for grilling. I'm quite fond of t-bone steaks with my own rub mixture, too. Add some twice baked potatoes and mm-mmm, let's eat!

My wife's cousin BBQ's an excellent pork loin. No BBQ sauce, he uses a garlic butter sauce. It's awesome.

Australians usually grill but I discovered real BBQ when I was in Kansas City last year. The burnt ends, prime rib, pulled pork were so good I can't wait to get back there for more. Totally worth spending $1200 on the airfare!

Sounds good, Jimmy. I'll start with your marinated salmon with lemon pepper. My fee is $97 plus expenses, but for you I'll just settle for expenses.

Haha nice one. Do you love salmon so much that you only would have charged me for your expenses? :p

Remember that you would lose a few days of income on the long trip (if it's not 100% automated of course).

Besides that, I did just grill a few cheese sausages for lunch for an hour ago. They tasted delicious in fresh hot dog breads with shrimp salad and french mustard.

I used an electric grill on them as it is a bit wasted and time consuming to grill three cheese sausages on a large coal grill.

its a great BBQ treat before the actual meal.
