Well, the more fat the food consists of, the slower it decompose.

I didn't watch the video myself.
I think most people who eat at McD's don't care what they are eating in addition to not really knowing. If you think about there isn't any type of nutritional education in school anymore. In fact I doubt they even see the USDA's "food pyramid" anymore. If they do most likely they don't understand it or care.
What's really scary is how McD's dictates the food we eat even if you don't eat there.

McD's is the largest purchaser of lettuce, chicken, ground beef, eggs, and a slew of other food items in the U.S. To keep up with their demand and ours food producers had to come up with ways to speed up production. Need more beef and milk? Feed the cows corn that just happens to be genetically engineered so corn production can supposedly keep up with demand and pump them up with rBGH.
They need more and fatter chickens faster so they put them in windowless building where they can "control" their environment and stuff them with fed laced with growth hormones and now it's been discovered arsenic.
It goes past McD's now and I'm not saying they where the only cause, just the biggest.

  • I remember way back when, when Ore-Ida or some other company, came into the restaurant where I worked and were pitching the 'newest revolution' in fast food - fries that needed no refrigeration - they didn't come frozen, and you could store them on a shelf! I remember telling those guys that there was something really really wrong about that - how could they treat a food like potato so it would not spoil?
Something tells me McD's probably just bought the rights way back when...

I don't eat at Mc D's any more (and miss the milk shakes). But --- I kept seeing Carl's Junior ads everywhere. They sounded like they might be pretty good so I stopped in and got one. Holy cow I will NEVER eat there again. I swear I ordered a cheeseburger, but what I got was a monosodium glutamate burger. I couldn't even taste the meat under all that crap. I couldn't believe how strong it was. They really dump it on. They actually make McD's taste like hamburger.

I still do A&W but that's about it.
I don't even do Jack's in Wynantskill anymore
What I find interesting is A&W Root beer still tastes the same after all this time of not drinking soda's. Coke, Pepsi, Ginger Ale all taste 'chemically' to me.

I use to have one of those back when I was young, dumb, and full of drugs
We called it the sopins pot and pretty much any liquid left overs from dinner went into it. Then we'd dip bread in it and eat that for the munchies. The pot never left the stove.

          Haha Thom!

You just reminded me when a relative moved to Michigan from Missouri and stayed at our house until she and her husband found their own place. I was just a kid about 11 years old or so.

Anyway, she started a similar pot with navy beans being the staple, adding dinner leftovers for several days. When nobody was home but me and my dad, he decided he was going to have a bowl. Hee hee!

He took one bite, spit it out immediately and was so mad, he took the whole pot outside and put it next to the beagle's bowls for them to eat.

Later that evening when everyone else got back from visiting all day long, she asked where the pot went. Dad told her, but when she went to retrieve it, it was no where to be found.

Seems it was so nasty that the dogs not only wouldn't eat it either, but they buried it, pot and all! LOL!

What has perturbed me about McDonald's when I have gone in - (which I rarely do) - is that so many people "religiously" eat there, they act like they expect EVERYONE to know the menu, and what they want right away...they seem absolutely gobsmacked if you don't know what you want, to the point where you almost find yourself apologizing for your indecisive Anti-Mctendencies
Yep, can relate to that, when you go to Maccers, or KFC once every year or two, (like l do) it can get like that; l tend to say what l want and they will pop it into their nearest deal, although these fast food outlet's do have a substantial amount of serviettes!

In Australia, when you go to the Pancake Parlour, for example, you usually have to strangle the waiter, to get some serviettes, but in the fast food outlet, l can just pick up a wad, and l am covered for a month or so!

I also tend to have a bowl of fruit in the morning, instead of so called nutritious breakfast food, makes a big difference to your health. Breakfast food manufacturers, put in vitamin tablets into worthless cereal, so they can put nutritious lists on the side; basically crap with two vitamin tablet powder thrown in!

McDonalds can be nasty if you eat too much of it. But what I find more repulsive is a need for some to use their McDonald's stories as a way to dictate what others eat. If I feel like eating a Big-Mac once in a while (and yes I love them) - Then that is my right to do so. - And if people get fat and unhealthy eating McDonald's food, then that is their own personal responsibility.

I don't have any A&W's close to me either, but I have a motorcycle that makes getting to one a whole lot of fun
Last summer a friend and I rode 130 miles to an A&W in the middle of Vermont. All for the double bacon cheeseburger and a root beer float.
I haven't tried Red Robbin yet and there's no Sonic around
I always liked the Big Mac myself. I'd probably do McD's again if it wasn't for all the other tastier choices around. Between me and McD's there's one place that serves a shaved roast beef soaked in aus jus on a kaiser roll with horseradish sauce. Hard to pass that one up for a Big Mac

The last McDonalds I had was in the city in the early hours. I wasn't greeted very nicely by the guy behind the counter when I asked for a Big Mac at 8am. He annoyed me but I swallowed my pride and channelled my frustration into a poem which I made up in the taxi home in an attempt to avoid a re-enactment of the Micheal Douglas "Falling Down" scene:

      Today I went to McDonalds
      Oblivious to the Breakfast Menu
Asking, the worker retorted in hate.
I could have done so much
But already so much had been done
      He works at McDonalds.

We have a Sonic out here, but haven't seen an A&W yet. After trying Carl's Jr and finding the meat so loaded with chemicals that I couldn't taste if there was meat in the meat, I'm afraid to try any other fast food. I'm still disgusted, wondering exactly what the hell I was eating.

I do remember A&W though, and it might just be worth the drive some time if they are still serving real food. I haven't had a A&W root beer in a coon's age. If they haven't changed their recipe at all, that would be one great treat.

In my opinion, most fast food places are a "last resort" for any meal...the quality of the food, and the conditions that a teenager will upkeep are something that I don't even want to think about ! I'm sure there are some "exceptional" clean fast food, but the majority are staffed by teens and I can only imagine......

Thanks for the moldy video, though !!!

      Glad that you liked it!

Yes, l can see a Maccer's out there somewhere, with one or two year old fries, on the stove!

But to be fair, even with this video, l have to admit that l still like their fries, l will only buy them vary rarely, though!

Not even if it was nice tasting crap?

Interesting thing l have heard, the Big Macs in order to be classified as actual food, (instead of confectionery) had to put pickles in it!

So, maybe a health warning on the product saying, "Warning this burger, may be classified as a confectionery in some countries" would be a good idea?

I suppose some breakfast cereals already do this, and get away with it.

I think that Homer Simpson, would be thinking, Mmmmmm, should l have this jumbo chocolate cake for dinner, or a Big Mac? Mmmmmm, Big Mac; Arrrrggh!

The thing is... when you're used to eating bad food, it tastes "good" to you, and healthy food tastes "bad" to you.

But when you get used to eating healthy food, it tastes really good, and bad food tastes really bad!

I used to like fast food somewhat when I was younger, but I've been eating quite healthy for the past several years, so if I went and ate a Big Mac right now, it would taste AWFUL to me. Not to mention that what is does to your body literally IS awful (go watch "Supersize Me" on Hulu and you'll see what I mean). So I agree with WSP... you also couldn't pay me to eat that crap!

Don't get me wrong a big mac tastes good, but later on, as you said if you are a bit of a health freak, you can certainly feel a bit off afterwords!

I've never known anything to be exagerated so much.

There are plenty of foods that are more unhealthy than most McDonalds food that can be bought from a local shop.

McDonalds only take flak because it's a brand of unhealthy food everyone is aware of. A cigarette is less tabooed.

A McDonalds isn't good to kill you. Leading an irresponsible lifestyle will kill you.

Hmmmmm, yeah, l have to admit that Maccers is more fun to pick on, but on a more serious note, l could have gone to Maccers, in Melbourne, Cnr Bourke, Flinders street last night, but decided on hungry Jacks, (Burger King) instead.

I also had a live show outside the restaurant, with a drunk kid bashing on the windows!

Explains whey there were 5 cop cars parked up the street!

I dont personally think Macdonalds tastes that good, Its unhealthy and u feel hungary not long after u have eaten it
That's why they serve coke, etc with it as a meal deal, it dissolves the food, (if you can call it that) quicker so you will buy more, although the fries might take longer. LOL.

Scary thought, l bet when they put one on Mars, it will have orange arches!

I hope they don't put one in the space station; it will give a whole new meaning to zero gravity. Yuck
