If your baby was breastfed, at what age did your baby stop breastfeeding?

    My kids were both about 2 when they stopped nursing.

    I was lucky that they both gave it up on their own. I dreaded having to make them stop!

    How old is your little one?

    It didn't stop instantly. I started weaning my oldest around one and it took a few months. My second and third kids were easier. Why nurse when your big brother has a Spiderman sippycup? It took 2-3 weeks maybe.

    My neighbor nursed her son until almost 5 and only stopped because he was going to kindergarten. A little too long, in my opinion but who am I to say?

    There really is no ideal time to wean but once a kid is old enough to unbutton his mother's blouse and feed himself it's probably a little past the time to start weaning.
