What a wonderful day for the United Kingdom!

Today we celebrated HRH Queen Elizabeth II Golden Jubilee (1952-2012).

Millions across the country braved the weather to hold street parties across the nation not to mention a quite superb pageant of over 1,000 boats of every description imaginable on the River Thames in London.

Typical for a bank holiday Monday, the weather did it's usual thing and absolutely hammered down with rain for much of the day doing nothing to dampen the spirits or the enthusiasm of the British public. It's events like this which bring out the best in us and nothing could deter the fun and good times enjoyed by everyone taking part.

As soon as some good Youtube videos come up, I'll post one or two of them up down below.

To 'whet' your appetite...

Call me pedantic (it has been said ), but wasn't her Golden Jubilee ten years ago in 2002, i.e. 50 years after her succession to the throne?

This must surely have been her Diamond Jubilee, if she's been monarch for 60 years?
