What kind of computer chair do you have?

I am dying here. I've got this older, standard computer chair that I can feel the pole wanting to come through the seat. It is so damn uncomfortable. Even having a pillow on the seat doesn't help. Actually it makes it worse. It's time for me to get a new computer chair, for sure.

What kind of computer chair do you have or recommend?

  • I have several types, but one of the most comfortable I use good for a bad back is a kneeling chair - some people look at them and think they cannot be comfortable...but they are quite ergonomic

this one also has a back - but many don't...(I suggest one that rolls)

Spending more time in it than I do in my bed sometimes I need a good one. Here is a picture of mine, and it is great (and not too expensive):

As with anything, your milegae may vary. I used to have the top version, tried it for almost a year, decided it wasn't for me.
Now I am NOT saying it isn't a good chair, but everyone is different physically ,so if you like the design, give it a try.

The one I have does not have a "saddle", it's just a regular cushioned seat, but I find if I'm working at a desk for extended periods, I'm comfortable...
(just don't lean back to stretch...expecting a chair-back to be there! I've done that :rolleyes

Actually, I didn't notice that at first3M, mine had a regular type set too,not a saddle.

As far as leaning back,I did that more times than I should admit!.

If you're having problems, check this out: Exercise ball - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

This forces your body to align without you even thinking about it. There are schools that use these - you'll have to google for that.

Proper alignment does wonders for anyone suffering any kind of issues.

That's when you update your "technology" and go with a "dual processor" unit.

. . . Oh, by the way, I want to get one of those "kneeling chairs" but I don't know how well they work, so I don't want to pay for a new one. Last weekend I had the chance to buy a used one for $25 at our annual library book and yard sale. While I was deciding, someone came up behind me, offered $10 and walked away with it! You snooze, you lose.

I'm actually not sure what kind of office chair it is brand name wise, it's a black fake leather (I'm assuming) reclining chair.
and I use a pillow for my butt because there is hardly anything for a cushion.

Forget the chair. Stand up. It's better for you. Studies show that people who work more than a couple of hours sitting down die younger. Sorry to sound dismal but it's true.

I can't sit down and work anymore because of tendonitis from a combination of using a bad mouse that was supposed to be ergonomic, and playing the drums. Standing up forces good posture, sitting down on anything does not. I got an adjustable desk that is just great.

This held true no matter what shape the test subject was in. Sitting is not healthy.
