There's good news for folks worried that atmospheric CO2 levels in the Arctic have passed 400ppm for the first time: a vast CO2-sucking phytoplankton bloom has been discovered beneath Arctic ice - and it may thank global warming for its presence.

There's supposed to be a lot of C02 when it's warm - it keeps the heat from killing the plants. CO2 is NOT a pollutant. The reason we have so much around is basically because we've done so much deforestation - those trees would have used it.

As far as algae blooms -- there's a big problem with toxic blooms going on right now in a lot of our state's waterways. They are forming as a result of pollution. One of the reasones the EPA is getting so freaky about keeping people off of public land., too, btw.
