Adwords is both overly nitpicky and too expensive. Google is extremely hypocritical. Hope competition emerges ASAP to knock them down a few pegs.

What networks besides Adsense are good?

    Microsoft and Yahoo both have PPC programs as well.
    They were, at least the last time I used them, cheaper than Adwords and between the 2
    get at least as much traffic if not more.
    I don't recall the names of the programs, but I'm sure if do a search in Bing and Yahoo they won't be hard to find.

    I agree, Google is too nit-picky - except when it benefits them not to be.
    I use MS Adcenter exclusively. You can get still good traffic with low bids.

    I tried to give Google another chance when Hostgator sent me one of those $100 adwords coupons. It was about to expire so I set up an account and created a couple of test ads. I set the ads on pause because the landing page wasn't ready and still went to a 404 page.

    I came back a week later to activate the ads only to find that the ad had been running and $85 of my $100 coupon was gone. For a company that scrutinizes every campaign, I found it funny that a paused ad was run without a valid landing page.

    Once you leave the big G you won't miss it much.

      yeah I agree, Google Is FAR too picky. but Google is The "Big Brother" of The Web and therefore gets a Good CHUNK of web searches as opposed to Microsoft Ad-center. If you are familiar with email Marketing, My Suggestion is to use Google simply to generate Email addresses which you can in turn, sell to your email list instead. The only Caveat is, there is a very particular education that you must gain with Marketing via Email.
