“A Swedish political party is taking a stand against upright urination.
“At a county council meeting [on June 11, 2012], the Left Party, or Vänsterpartiet, tabled a motion that would require office washrooms to be genderless with a sit-down-only requirement, reported the news agency Tidningarnas TelegrambyrÃ¥.
[n]“For men who might refuse to comply, party representatives suggested a separate set of toilets clearly labeled for stand-up urination only.
“Vänsterpartiet, known as a socialist and feminist organization, believes seated urination is healthier for men and more hygienic for both sexes.”
...
BTW in case you are curious, "Vänsterpartiet" would translate directly as literally "the left party".

What gets me is the part I bolded! Let me get this straight! You can NOT have urinals. though they have been in mens public bathrooms for AT LEAST the better part of a century BUT.... BUT..... if some won't comply(I assure you they will NOT!), then you can have some FULL toilets to be used ONLY as urinals.

Outside of the fact that the signs could be ignored, all this will do is reduce space, thus increasing traffic, and increase cost.

As for ignoring the signs? Why not have signs on ALL toilets saying to not use them in that way unless you can, put the top up, and clean them up, before putting the top down. OH YEAH, PEOPLE DON'T READ SIGNS!

  • They're "taking a stand against upright urination."

    that's kind of an oxymoron...

    Shouldn't they be holding a sit-in? :p

Sounds to me like the women are actually just sick of wet spots on the seat.

Yeah, and they have a point, but last I heard it was generally against the law for a man to go into a woman's restroom! A bit over a decade ago, they DID make it OK for a woman to go to a mans room. I don't imagine that happens often. A few months ago, they DID make it ok for a man to go to a womans, because of an incident with a "transgendered" person. AGAIN, probably rare. GRATED, that is in the US, but I imagine it is similar elsewhere. Apparently the idea of separate restrooms started in, of ALL places, FRANCE!

If I said what I'm thinking it would probably get me banned.

Kim, maybe it's just because I didn't get enough sleep, but I don't get your post. Maybe you linked to another graphic and they show that image by default for hotlinking?

Sounds like someone is pissed off and is not going to take this sitting down.
