New Idea/feature For the Warrior Forum...what do you think?

So...I have been a member here for a few years now and I hardly EVER have a sig with my posts... But I still do a lot of posting here.

Well... I noticed today that there is a fellow warrior here named Ken Strong who has a cancer fund and a very good WSO put together by several generous warriors here at the forum.

So I decided, since I'm not using the Sig space for any promotions at the moment, I'd just link to Kens WSO.

Then I got to thinking... How many other WF members do you think there.... are that come here for a week, or a month, even 3 years (Like me) and hardly ever have a sig? Yet they still use the forum...?

**Here's the Idea**

What if... the warrior forum had a program (similar to adsense charity ads)

So, that If you do not create a sig then a DEFAULT sig will automatically be added for you until you change it.

This Sig can lead to Kens Page, or any other warrior In need!

I know there have been several warriors over the years that have reached out for all sort of health issues, and I think this could be of great benefit to them.

Thoughts?

Seems like a good idea on the surface. Not sure if there would be any legal issues since it would look like the user is endorsing whatever is being promoted.

If there were no legal issues they could just say all new users will sport a predetermined signature for their first month before they're allowed to change it.

Just when you think you've got it all figured out, someone changes the rules.

Well there could be a small line of text in italics under the links that reads "this sig is sponsored by the forum and not endorsed by the user".

Or... the their could simply be a few things added to the user agreement before singing up like "in addition to becoming a member you agree to allow the WF to place default links that may be for charity in your sig etc etc."

A month? That sounds good. Then it could stay there if they never manually remove it. After all if they aren't going to use it, why waste the space with nothing?

And they can always switch back to default if they end their promo.

Like I said, I rarely use a sig. I might have a promo, then I will go without a sig for months.

I can foresee many problems with it.
    Maybe this will show one.

Paul Myers sent out an email about Ken today. I'm not sure how much I should say in a public forum, so I'll just summarize the email by saying the prognosis looks good but Ken still needs help financially.

Eight top copywriters got together and contributed their expertise to a product about video sales letters. It looks great, I'm picking it up myself shortly. Here's the link for more info: Keep Ken Strong | Supporting Ken Strong's Cancer Treatment

Never bought a WSO before tonight - figured buying Ken's was a learning experience for a good cause.

I noticed that replies had dropped considerably in recent months on that WSO - I wonder if you guys have considered a V2 to possibly stir up some interest/kickstart another push?

    T-Bird,
seriously I am doing better, having some issues that come and go, magnesium too low, potassium too high, and right now I feel I am being over medicated with some things.
My next transplant unit visit is a week from today though and I am hoping to get that addressed then. But I have gone from having to go to the transplant unit twice a week right after the operation to just starting this month one time a month,so thats nice.

As far as Ken, I have heard mixed reports,so anything I say about him is hearsay. I have heard he has tried a new treatment and is responding to it,but again,I can't say for sure.
Maybe HeySal might know more about him. Either way he is another that needs support.both financially and emotionally and spiritually.

  • It could always be labeled a forum ad (not sig) UNTIL the use of the sig, taking away responsibility from the poster.
