Hi

I listen to Solar radio with is soul and RnB music when im doing all my online work.

It just came to me, i wonder what others prefer to listen too. Do you like jazz, chillout beach sounds, soul, pop, golden oldies, country and so on or just one particular artist you listen to on repeat?

Whats the music you put on, if any, when your settling down to do your work?

I usually listen to Tiesto's Club life podcast. They are about an hour long so you can gauge the time. Other times I'll listen to Podcasts from Internet Marketers like PAt Flynn.

oh, that is a good topic! :-)
I usually listen to music that helps me relax and be creative. I like Secret Garden a lot. But sometimes I need something stronger. Like ...Linkin Park for example or 30 Seconds to Mars.
I usually listen to music a lot. Different genres and styles. It has to sound well and feel well :-)

I listen to whatever Pandora tells me I should listen to. Who wants to think for themselves?

While I'm writing I listen to Techno/Electronic. It's not my favorite type of music but it has a fast beat to keep me working. It also doesn't usually have too many words to it so it doesn't distract me.

I also sometimes listen to heavy metal while writing, for the same reasons.

When I'm doing anything else I typically listen to Celtic music or soft rock. Sometimes Opera or Broadway show tunes.

I try to listen to instrumental stuff. Mostly classical music.

I've just discovered OmmWriter which is a great app for anyone who writes a lot...it plays serene music. its totally zen, with a calming background too.

It depends on what I'm trying to accomplish and what mood I'm in. I've got everything from blues and jazz to classical, country and techno.

One thing I've discovered is that in genres like blues, jazz, country, and so on, I tend to prefer the older stuff. Classic rock, Motown, and more.

One somewhat offbeat part of my collection is Hawaiian Slack-Key Guitar music. It's great when doing things that are relatively mechanical yet mentally demanding, like proofreading. Keeps me focused and relaxed.

        • Music is too distracting unless I'm doing something relatively mindless, like shipping packages or prepping merchandise to send to Amazon.

When I do have it on it's classic rock like the Eagles or Genesis. Steve Morse and the Dixie Dregs (progressive rock/jazz). The last year or so I've gotten attached to Chris Murphy (violin/bluegrass).

I listen to Last.Fm using the Firefox toolbar. It's awesome. I can choose a radio station based on the band I want to hear, and it plays anything it has that's related to that band. I found that Pandora was too resource intensive for my old computer, which is why I started with Last.

That said, my favorites are Tristania, Within Temptation, and Aesma Daeva; Symphonic Metal and the like on most days. Some of the older Metallica, Korn, Tool albums are good too, and I can never get enough of Floyd or Zeppelin.

Hmmmm, yep l just put the radio on and listen to anything good. I tend to lean towards surfing type music!

But could go to Jazz, if it's good.

But if l am working on something important l will take the headphones out!
