I like it
I see you're getting ready to legalize and tax out here.
California shook the nation when a bill to tax and regulate marijuana was introduced on February 23. And even before that happened, the Hawaii, Montana, Vermont, and Washington Legislatures had already begun considering bills to decriminalize marijuana.
We're going for medical here.
MPP's medical marijuana bills are moving through the Illinois, Massachusetts, Minnesota, New Hampshire, and New York Legislatures, and the Drug Policy Alliance's similar legislation is moving in New Jersey

I recognized many of those strains like Big Bud, White Rhino, and my all time favorite Mikado.
This looks like it will be a land mark year.

Well, I am disappointed. I wanted to see the mouse. I had a hamster once -quite a tame little guy. I had a couple of grams of hash and had a pal over - we were at the kitchen table and the hamster was on the table with the hash. We weren't watching him, though and he got a chunk of the hash and started eating it - I don't know how much he ate before I caught him, but I took it away from him and didn't think much about it until he fell off the table. I put him back up and he slid off into my lap - so I put him on the floor and he started running in circles very fast then zoomed into a wall, spun around and zoomed into the bedroom. I found him in the closet and knew he was still alive because he opened one eye, although he was quite limp. He slept for two day when I put him back in his cage.

Misleading title -- I wanted to see the mouse.

Yep - the Mexican drug cartels are actually doing us a favor out here in the West. It's about time they straightened out that phony baloney damaging law.

That's pretty much how I act when I eat hash.
I run in circles, fall down, and sleep for a few days
13 states already have med. herb laws with 8 more in the works.
Mass. just passed a decrim law similar to NY. $100 fine for possession, similar to a traffic ticket except nothing goes on your record.
Like I said could be a good year and Cali could just start a snowball effect.

Eek is the singer. I saw him last night at the San Jose Music In The Park. Great show and it was smokey. Tons of people. Eek does around 200 shows a year. Here's a song he did last night: Ganga Smuggling:

Hash and hamsters is a bad mix, obviously, but damn, that would've made a helluva a youtube video!

And, see? Nobody, not even a hamster who eats almost his weight in hashish, can overdose on the stuff!

Um, did your hamster begin doing cocaine and heroin later? I hear marijuana and hash are, uh, gateway drugs, at least that's the word from the government know-it-alls, and by all means, if anyone should know, they would, right?

(Rolling eyes...)

Sure are some pretty pictures.

I really hope the laws change - here in Calif it's been okay with the 'traffic fine' routine and the medical Rx - but I think taking it off the black market is best for all concerned - I won't pretend I mean anything more than ready accessibility and without danger.

Besides, if I can kill myself with cigs and alcohol from the corner store, well I should be able to get some fine grade healthy herb just as easily. It's only right. ...and about time!

I love your hamster hash story, Sal. So cute.

I had some high-grade buds hidden under a mattress 'back in the day' and had a border collie and 3 lab/pit pups. They found it and had a party tearing up stuff all over the bed (and didn't leave me even a flake).

They must have been ripped because they also tore the entire kitchen linoleum in 3 big pieces (who knew it wasn't glued down besides them). There was not a guilty expression among them, either. Ya gotta love 'em.

Yeah -- that's what they like to say, but in actuality, that's not true. What ALL drug
users start out on is Milk. There are heroin and crack users that never smoked pot - there are pharm addicts that never smoked or did heroin, before - but they all drank milk as kids. I think we need to illegalize cows, and fast.

The reality is Tobacco and alcohol are the two gateway drugs.
Cannabis has been used in England to ween addicts off heroin.
They give the addicts the herb to smoke to counter the withdrawal effects then just take the herb away. Being non-addictive they don't have any ill effects from that.

Danc that's why Cali is going the legalization route, the money they would collect in taxes just from that could put them in the black again.
As far as how much that in the video is worth, well that's a tough question but here's some numbers for you. Here in upstate NY hi grad goes for between $400 to $550 an ounce. You can still get Mexican brick weed for around $120 but why bother.

To learn the true story of cannabis in America this site is a most read.

cannabis is a gateway drug.

a gateway to dorito usage

I'm not even really concerned about marijuana getting made legal, though i would think if california has people BEGGING to pay taxes for something they are already using, i dont see the sense in not taking them up on their offer. But i would really like to see hemp made legal again (technically marijuana is legal in the u.s.)

My biggest bitch in all the years I've been a legalization advocate is no one can give one legitimate reason why hemp is illegal.

Because there is none. The legal response is because it contains THC which is a controlled substance. But it doesnt contain enough to make a difference.

I wrote a paper on legalization when i was in college and because of that did a lot of history and background on weed being illegal. Its entire because of big business not wanting natural competition.

Yep I know
When I first started doing some research back in the early eighties my father was still alive and was able to give me some good insight on what things where like before prohibition for both alcohol and cannabis and during the early years of cannabis prohibition (he was born in 1898).
I still have part of the still he made when alcohol prohibition kicked in.
I keep it as a reminder of why I do what I do to promote legalization.

bingo! my feeling is it's because it would put big Pharma out of business...people wouldn't need aspirin or tylenol or any other pain-killer for that matter

yeah..marijuana's been illegal for far too long but they give Ritalin to kids, which is like giving them cocaine or crystal meth

Technically, marijuana is legal. It has been since 1937. You need a stamp to grow it, and its illegal to grow unless you have the stamp. but you need to have weed in hand to get the stamp. As far as I know the stamps are still in circulation, or atleast they were up until about 2000 or so

That changed in 1970 with the Comprehensive Drug Abuse Prevention and Control Act, which placed cannabis as a schedule 1 drug.
