I like it!

I don't care about the reasoning behind it. I merely think that women should receive preferential treatment and wider, well lit parking spaces are just that!

Before you get out the rotten tomatoes, I joke, I joke!

But I still like it!

The preferential treatment is all well and good, but if I told my wife she needed a wider parking spot, she'd slap me clear into next week...and I wouldn't DARE bring up the lighting on it

No, no, no! You'd be handling it all wrong. You'd have to present it to her in a different fashion.

Something like this...

Honey, in order to give you more comfort when returning after shopping while carrying all of your packages, I've given you a wider space so you don't have to struggle with your bags and boxes and risk the possibility of rubbing against the car and getting your gorgeous outfit dirty.

Or something like that.

I'm sure there are ladies who are better at parking than men, but in my experience the mayor's assessment is correct. No offense ladies, but most of the time I've seen someone struggle to park their car it's been a woman. I know a woman who broke the mirror off her car backing out of the garage. Now she parks outside ... even in the winter.

That was offered. After spending $300+ to fix the mirror, she decided for herself what she wanted to do. No one is "making" her do anything. Trust me, no one makes this lady do anything she doesn't want to do.

True story - in the late 70s, some friends of ours made a bunch of money on a stock deal. They graduated from a Maverick, which they parked in their garage complete with a tennis ball, to a Coupe DeVille...

The very first time Cindy ran the new car into the garage, she didn't stop till she hit the tennis ball. And the back garage wall.

Well..... it's kind of insulting, but after 24 years of legally driving, I still can't parallel park unless I'm in a bad mood! Then I don't worry about what I hit..

This is obviously as it should be.

I'm having a hard time understanding why some people will have a problem with this. (No - I'm not really: I understand that some people will, but I just think they're a bit silly about it, to be honest).

I'd like wider and longer parking spaces for women, to be honest. Just because my car's nearly 16' long, of course.
