Now THAT'S the way to stop crime. Make it just too dangerous to commit them. If robbers have to worry about getting shot anywhere they try to rob, they will think a few times first, and if they're smart, they'll go apply for jobs instead.

Another take on that might be; they will just kill, then rob before they have a chance to be threatened.

They do that a lot of times ANYWAY! When a certain group of people got guns, they were credited with making things more violent. The group? COPS! There really WAS a time when cops tended to not have guns. In many places there are STILL unarmed guards. But AGAIN, to illustrate it, remember a few of the die hard movies? The FIRST thing they did, in like half the movies, was REPLACE THE GUARDS! It is probably a common ploy if you have something involved, etc... Anyway, it is a good idea to be prepared.

The city I live in now started with ZERO cops per thousand. When they FIRST started having cops, it was 1 per 4000 people, TOTAL!!!!! IMAGINE! NO phones! NO cars! NO radios! so they probably needed a cop at the station, so that is now 1 cop per 6000! They probably split the crew up for night shift, so that is 1 cop per 12000 people! One cop for the WHOLE city!!!!!!! TODAY? They have phones, radios, cars, cell phones, 911, computers, etc.... It is one cop per a bit more than 545 people! OK, if you allow for a nightshift, that is as big, it is one per 1090 people. So the job WOULD be easier and safer, but they need almost 12 times as many cops! NOTE, I am talking cop per capita, so population doesn't matter. Still, 1 per 545 people is not enough to really PROTECT. They are NOT called guards or protectors, which implies they are there to PROTECT you! They are called POLICE which, in english anyway, means to survey, check to make sure things SEEM ok, and CLEAN UP LATER!

The police department here is VERY open, so I can see the 538 things they had to do last saturday! I guess they didn't bother to report sunday yet. I went through EVERYTHING mentioning anything about guns, or relating to them, and some selected things, enjoy:

        1 shooting
        7 meets
        7 threats
        3 unwanted
        4 vandalism
        2 vehicle vandalisms
        10 hit and runs
        3 DUIs
        4 holdup alarms triggered
2 panic alarms(one was with the holdup alarm)
        4 man down
        1 armed robbery avondale
2 party armed(both at same place, and with a man down)
        2 batteries
        3 narcotics
        1 harassment
        2 mentally ill
        2 mental violence
        1 molest
        4 fights
        2 warrants
        ~43 911 HANGUPS!

So TWO things involved a gun. ONE caused a man down. There were three other men down, but I couldn't tie them to anything involving a gun. Effectively 5 alarm events, involving panic or holdup. And there were TEN hit and runs, involving a vehicle, such as a car!

We have the next star of Terminator 5.

Quentin Tarantino , you're dropping the ball if you don't pick her up in your next action film.
