"Aurora Breakthrough was seven weeks old when she died in hospital in July 2009. She had a broken arm and leg, and most of her ribs were broken. The bones were in various stages of healing, indicating they had been broken at various points in her short life."

The good news is that other inmates don't look fondly upon child abusers. He might not live to get out of the joint and do it again.

It's a sick story all around - the mother got off light, too, even though she knew what was going on and did nothing to stop it.

I think they should both be sterilized - but I guess that would be inhumane, wouldn't it?

These days highly unlikely. He will be placed into "protective custody" to protect him from other inmates. 23 hours a day, in a cell, probably with one hour a day for exercise.

I believe he should get much more than six years, but that's still quite a while to be alone. I say he shouldn't worry about his time in prison... it's when he gets out, well that's another story.

I so wish we could stop people like this from becoming parents in the first place. Too bad there isn't some way to identify these monsters.
