Raising a child is akin to knowing you're getting fired in 18 years and having to train your replacement without actively sabotaging them.

Back? Did I miss something? Did they take them off the market for being poison or something? Fill me in on the excitement because I'm not "getting" it on my own.

My daughter insisted on having one when she was younger, and so she got one. My thought was "whatever"

Then her best girlfriend came to spend the night and brought her Furby with her.

Did you know that those things communicate with each other??

I didn't either until I heard something in the middle of the night and got up to inspect. Those things were interacting with each other in "Furby Talk" and moving and stuff!

It totally freaked me out causing my heart to race and my mouth to scream, thereby waking every living soul in the house. I was so embarrassed!

I've hated those things ever since!!

I never hated them - but never spent much time with one either. It's a toy that interacts...as good or better than a plastic thingamabob that just sits there.

You didn't know? I thought that was a selling point. ALSO, hamsters tend to get up and run on the wheel a lot! So don't get THEM if you are sensitive to noise EITHER.

One thing I didn't know is that many furbies are supposed to speak a language where about 80% becomes the main language of the country they are for. So american ones speak mainly english!

Hey, they are kind of like gizmo. I don't know WHY, maybe it was the voice, personality, expression, or just the acting, but I think gizmo was kind of cute. Of course he was cuter than furbies, but similar.

My brother nuked a furby in the microwave. I was proud of him.
      Bless you!

PS Fair enough, but l think that they are off base with the eyes!

It will no doubt, become a zombie Firbie when the batteries run down.

Zombie Firbie, no eyes, but it still moves a little, and speaks in a garbled tone! And no doubt gives your kids nighmares.

I walked past a small pony toy that the kids can sit on, where the batteries were almost dead, it moved a little, but looked like it had a broken neck!

I thought that toys are supposed to be fun???

I wonder if they will be able to re-create the buying furor they had going for them in the late 90s.
