The front office has catered to Howard forever
Its frustrating they caved and gave him what he wanted again
The deal could have been structured better, ie with lesser teams, and more weighted lottery picks. And to dump J Richardsons and Duhans crap contracts and pick up two more crap contracts us sheer lunacy

OKC is Still the best team in the West. Kendrick Perkins plays Dwight better than anyone else in the league, gave Howard big headaches in the east when he was with Boston.

Durant is the best Player in the west, bar none.

Yup, David Stern has a massive woodie thinking the same as you for the finals next year.

My hope for Orlando is that Hanegan can work the same magic( pun intended)

I think Bynum has a better low post game on offense. He's not as good defensively of course but I see some problems with Kobe and Howard's ego's meshing. Don't forget my curse also bud!

Ha! Durant best player in the west? Not so sure I'd jump to that conclusion so quickly after he blew it playing Miami??? ( The team that almost lost to Boston AND had fits with Indiana )

Of course, Kobe couldn't do everything himself. If he had THIS team they would have steamrolled over OKC, and then who would have been the best player in the west?

Sorry, but looks like the curse has been lifted off the Lakers. The league decides to hand it to them AGAIN, even though they cried about losing the last trade ( Chris Paul ).

I'm definitely no fan of the Lakers, but this one looks like a lock. At least Steve Nash will finally get the ring he deserves. Go Nash!!

Hey, Durant didn't play bad. It was Harden mostly who lost that series for OKC. Durant's still the best in the west and if you watched the finals of the Olympics he was the best on the USA team: 30 points, 9 rebounds in a 7 point win.

I'll agree that Harden played terrible against Miami, but Durant was definitely no "force" against the Heat like he was against Dallas, the Lakers, and most importantly the Spurs. Westbrook had some "flashes" of brilliance, but couldn't pull it off himself.

We will just say this: Durant didn't play bad vs Lebron, but he definitely wasn't good. I admit I laughed hard when TL named the Heat as champions, but he was dead on. I figured they "might" take 1 game max.

Best in the west? Well, you could argue the point. How about Kobe? I guess we'll see come play-off time.

Durant in finals:

PPG = 30.6
FG% = .548
3p fg% = .394
RPG = 6

In my book that is good. In fact very good. If Harden, and at times Westbrook, had played their normal game the pressure would have been off Durant and they likely would have been champs. I can't blame Durant one bit.

Bad front office management and head coaches over the years has done this to Orlando. All you have to do is look south in Miami, they have a great ownership and general manager that understands the game of basketball, and what it takes to win.

Nuggets got a diamond in the rough, for sure. Igudoulas best days are ahead of him. I think he was the surprise player in London.

Magic hired Mark Price, All Time Free throw % leader, Exclusively to tutor Howard. Didn't help....

Dwights maturity level is his albatross. He was KING in O-Town till he started the " I am not happy here" circus. He will NOT be able to assimilate to being a team player if he ain't "The MAN". And if the kid ain't happy, he will POISON that locker room. mark my words.

Lakers have this in the bag. The Pick and roll situationg using Gasol a 7'1 versatile bigman who can both shoot with pick and pop situations and score in the low post, along with Dwight Howard right next to him. Not to mention the pick and rolls are coming from STEVE NASH. as much as i like OKC i do not think they can beat the lakers. Ron Artest perimeter defense still kept Durant to under 30 points which is good enough. And West brook might get through steve nash but Dwight is there to clean up his mistakes this time. On offense this team is ridiculous too. They should be able to score 100+ each night easy

Personally I prefer Bynum to Howard but that's just me.

For the Lakers the best move was solidifying the bench a little more. Last season the bench was trash, and in my opinion Mike Brown could have done better playing the newer guys like Goudlock a little more than he did.

We have added some big veterans such as Nash but we have also got a lot of other players with these trades that not much has been said about. At least we have a few three point shooters off the bench this season (Both Blake and Barnes were not consistant with the three).

Kobe, Nash, Gasol and Howard (once he can play) is a great starting line-up, also not forgetting World Peace who can play great on D as well as offensively.

I guess it was a good move getting rid of Sessions to make way for Nash. IMO Sessions did play well, but couldn't bring that little bit extra during the play-offs (his 3 was awful)but given the choice I would prefer Sessions over Blake as PG.

Poor deal by the Magic if you ask me. Would've been better off taking that Nets offer from a month ago getting Lopez, Brooks, Humphries and 4 UNPROTECTED 1st Round Picks. Nets were also willing to take back a cap contract.

This is another reason I like the NFL better than the NBA. In the NFL, big time free agents like Reggie White will choose Green Bay and Peyton Manning will choose Denver.

In the NBA, the superstars (except Kevin Durant) all end up in the 5 or 6 largest media markets. Milwaukee doesn't have a chance of ever winning another NBA title, but Green Bay has won multiple Superbowls and can win more in the future.

I thought Nash's acquisition was the final piece of the puzzle to help us seriously compete in the west and the Howard trade was not really necessary.

I find the info regarding Howards' free throw shooting a big disappointment and Byum could have easily duplicated 90% of Howards' stats and is much younger.

If Shaq would have been a better free throw shooter, we could have had at least 1 more championship IMHO.

We have a small 2-3 year window to win another title (before Kobe and Nash retire) so that we can at least tie the Men In Green for the most NBA championships.

I'd hate to see us lose that opportunity because of another bad foul shooting center from Orlando.

I look forward to meeting OKC in the Western Conf. Finals.
