The dynamic and controversial Louisiana State cornerback Tyrann Mathieu is no longer on the Tigers football team, Coach Les Miles announced Friday. Miles said Mathieu violated team rules, though he declined to be more specific.

Full Story Here

SEC schools are prolly tripping over themselves to sign this kid to their program.

We will take him in Gainesville (GO GATORS!)

The Kids' got mega skills, plus we have been known to forgive certain infractions

I don't follow college football much, but doesn't he have to sit out a year if he transfers?

Hard to say without knowing the particulars, seems the NCAA makes it up as they go along. Depends on the "oomph" the school has that wants to recruit him.

When Houston Nutt (real name) was Coach @ Ole Miss,
      He pulled some similar shenanigans
Letting Jeremiah Masoli join Ole Miss shows Houston Nutt is dirty ...

If he transfers to a Div I school he'll need to sit out a year.

I'm guessing he'll play at a smaller school this year then enter the NFL draft next year.

That sounds about right, he is a junior.
I read that Peyton played like his old self for the short time he was in your first preseason game.

Peyton only played one series...But IMO, he's looked good in training camp and the little bit of action he had yesterday. I think he'll be OK, from a health point of view.

That's what I read. We got his backup (Orlovsky) from the Colts in Tampa now as our backup. He went 8 for 8 last night when we trounced the Fins. Makes me wonder what the hell the Colts where thinking.
Lets see we'll get rid of possibly the best current quarterback and while we're at it lets get rid of the guy who has been studying him for a year, yeah that will show em.

LSU keep making one dumb mistake after the other
Interesting how secret the reason is for cutting this guy - wouldn't be surprised if money wasn't involved there somewhere.

In the light of recent sports scandals - it would be stupid for LSU to cover up serious rule violations no matter who the player is.

The LSU coach said "repeated substance violations".

I honestly believe the Broncos and the Bucs are the two most improved teams over the off-season.

I got to agree with you there.
I remember when we hire Schiano as the head coach.
Two things stood out. First when he was being considered Belichek(sp) called our G.M. and told him that hiring him would be the smartest move they could make. Then I was reading what the other college coaches where saying about him. Every one of they where glad they didn't have to play against his teams anymore
Who knows, maybe we'll see a Broncos - Bucs superbowl in the near future

                  "repeated substance violations".
They are not reporting that here in the South that I've heard - I heard the words "substantial violation of athletic regulations" but the news reports here keep saying the reason for the dismissal has not been released.

I see many reports today are assuming the reason is repeated failed drug tests but the school hasn't released an official reason that I've seen. Makes sense, though.

Bloody Shame that an otherwise model student athlete citizen gets his life screwed for weed. society sucks sometimes.
Yup, He knew he was breaking the rules.knew the consequences if he got caught.
Yet he chose to continue smoking weed.

He'll need to sit even after being cut?

He may be eligible for the supplemental draft, or end up on someones Practice squad this season

There was a Florida CB in the exact same situation last year. He was cut by Florida last year, played the season at a small school, then was a first round pick this year...Can't remember his name.

Honey Badger isn't eligible for the NFL this year as both the draft and the supplemental draft have passed.

That would be Janorious Jenkins, drafted By St.Louis
Played his last year of eligibility at North Alabama for Terry Bowden, One of FSU legend Bobby Bowdens Sons.
