I loathe commercial television. Refuse to watch it.

But I love movies. Always have since I was a kid.

Most times, instead of renting movies ... I'll drop $5-$10 and buy a handful of used DVDs from the local pawn shops.

Having grown up on a steady diet of film and popcorn, I've watched lots of actors get older and well, some of them don't look like they have too many films left in them.

Sean Connery, Morgan Freeman, Jack Nicholson, Gene Hackman, Anthony Hopkins to name a few ...

I know there are way bigger problems in life but it bums me out to think their time will be up soon.

*sigh*

Do you have an actor/actress you will particularly miss?

What's even worse is that the greats like Al Pacino and Robert Di Nero are staring in some absolutely crap movies. You'd think as they got older they'd be making better movies however the opposite is true.

I miss Paul Newman. He was an excellent actor. I remember when I was a kid I used to stay up late watching old movies (like Dial M For Murder - great movie) and saw him in The Hustler.

My brother's favourite actor is Jean Claude Van Dame and we watched a new movie of his JCVD where he plays himself in Belgium and is taken hostage in a bank robbery. Surprisingly it was a pretty good movie. The subtitles and gritty camera work made it seem more believable.

Yeah there's loads of old actors that I'm going to miss.

Ah I've got to say, Paul Newman isn't an actor who's work I've explored very much. I will now that he's on my radar.

A guy who always reminds me of him is Robert Redford. I've only seen a little of his work too.

      Hehe. That made me chuckle.

Yeah, "surprisingly good" sounds about right when it comes to Van Damme ;-) I'll keep an eye out for it.

      Cheers.

John Ritter ... sorry but I don't even know who that is. Is that the guy from that sitcom about the radio station?

Kurt ... damn, yeah ... how could I forget Clint. Talk about legendary.

I think this calls for The Good, The Bad and The Ugly tonight.

    Cheers!
