        LOL! Totally true!

I somehow don't think John actually said that, so you can't really attribute it to him.

Au contraire! I am a HUGE Lennon fan. My favorite Beatle, and kindred spirit.

While it's true that what you posted is something Lennon could have said, my point was he never actually said those exact words. Therefore, you cannot rightly put it in quotes, which are indicators of an exact phrasing of someone's words. And then you cited him as the one who said what are essentially your words. You were parodying him, but not quoting him, because he never said what you said.

    Haha, Love it!

I have a little story about a tire slashing. One time in So.California an angry kid had gone and slashed all 4 tires of a car. By the time he finished with the 4th tire, friends of the car owner were there and grabbed him and tied him to a nearby pole with a handmade bill for 4 tires attached to his shirt. As a bonus, he also received a sharp kick to the nuts. He had to stand there for about a half an hour of public humiliation until the cops arrived. One cop had to step aside and compose himself because he kept laughing as he approached the suspect.

I can lighten up as much as the next guy, I just can't stand inaccuracy since it can lead to future ignorance by those who don't know the difference. (i.e., The phrase "for all intents and purposes" being corrupted down to "for all intensive purposes" - just one example of many). Little do we know how our words and actions today can screw up the world tomorrow, lol.

I love forums. All of a sudden, a moronic arsehole trying to slash someone's tire turns into a Chapman debate. How did we get here? Lol!

On second glance, in this scenario, the punishment didn't fit the crime. The guy probably smashed all his front teeth out on the steps and he also managed to stab himself in the arm with the knife he was trying to do the tire slashing with.
He lost a significant amount of blood in a very short time.
A severe slap on the wrist would have been appropriate here.
This was more than just a slap on the wrist, the guy's lucky to be alive!

Oh, It was blood. I wasn't really thinking when I was watching but I did see something different on the ground. I didn't even see the steps neither!

I don't think I quite woke up today.

Punishment VS Crime? The lad was carrying a knife.

Live by the knife, die by the knife!

I've got little sympathy for wasters.

Wasn't any punishment - there was a consequence of an action. Kind of like working on an air bag while you're looking right at it...

The guy was lucky the knife didn't get shoved into his face instead of into his arm. He's very lucky to be alive.
