Kirk And Chekov In The Same Columbo

My wife has been on a Columbo kick of late and today we're watching one
where William Shatner plays Detective Lucerne. Well, it just so happens that in
the same episode, Walter Koenig who played Chekov on Star Trek had a small
role as a cop.

Geeky stuff like this just makes me as giddy as a school girl.

I just thought it was so cool.

Two items of note.

1. Shatner did his usual overacting.
2. Koenig spoke without his Russian accent. Almost didn't recognize him.

There have been other Trek alumni who have appeared together on other shows
I'm sure. Just can't think of them off the top of my head.

So feel free to add your own incidents.

Shatner never really acts. He always seems the same, whether fighting an alien in the old star trek, or advertising price line.

Koenig is OFTEN speaking without the accent he had in star trek. He was a REGULAR on deep space NINE, and didn't have that accent.

Speaking of which, DANGER WILL ROBINSON! Lost in space star billy mummy was ALSO on babylon 5. A daughter of his was in a new twilight zone episode. As I recall, she played a part in the remake of a part her father played in the first twilight zone!

  • I wonder if Kevin Pollack has ever seen that...he does a great Kirk, and a terrific Peter Falk (best I've ever seen - he even has the 'eye' down) - but I don't know about his Chekov...
