Windows 8 Will Invade YOUR Privacy!

What do you guys think about this?

Windows 8 will automatically report every program you download to Microsoft, possibly hackers | Technology News Blog - Yahoo! News

If you want to use Windows 8 it appears the t&c will require you to agree to automatically report every program you install to Microsoft.

I think I'll be keeping with Windows 7 and changing to Linux when necessary.

Big Brother continues to invade our privacy.

I've already figured out how to circumvent Win8's stupidity... never use it! The plan is to keep my wonderful Windows 7 until it just can't cope anymore. In the meantime I'll be installing and learning Ubuntu, a very nice Linux OS. Unless Microsoft smartens up, Windows 7 is the last OS of theirs that I'll ever use.

I was running Ubuntu and at first really liked it. But after a while it started getting kind of bloated and during one upgrade it crashed my machine so bad I had to install another O.S.
I'm running Linux Mint now which is based on Ubuntu.
So far after 6 or 8 months it has been very smooth.

    No it doesn't.

    No it won't.

If you don't want the protection against malware and viruses from SmartScreen, just turn it off in your privacy settings.

When you install Windows 8 or boot a new computer for the first time, they throw it right in your face so you HAVE to say you want this. If you don't, just say no.

This is the same as the antivirus program you're probably already using, except the antivirus vendors don't tell you about all the information you're sending back to them. If you're running Chrome, Firefox or Internet Explorer, all those are reporting every site you visit back to their servers too -- that's the phishing filters built into all those browsers. If you own an iPhone or an iPad, heck, you can't even get software Apple hasn't vetted, and when you do install something, it gets reported right to them.

I for one am glad Microsoft is offering free antivirus, free antimalware, and a free blacklist of malicious software. They're saving hundreds of millions of people money they'd otherwise have to spend on crappy, bloated antivirus programs that slow down your computer and have much worse terms.

And most importantly, millions of people that would otherwise have their computers trashed or turned into nodes of a botnet by malicious software will be protected from it.

I see, maybe I will be interested to get it for my backup PC if the price is right.
