I listened to an interesting interview recently with a man who is true expert on terrorism and on safety.

He bluntly said the lists and the shoe-offs and other "necessary precautions"...make us just about as safe as we were on September 10, 2001.

Dear April: I don't want any trouble from you.
January was long, February was iffy, March was a freaking dumpster fire.
So sit down, be quiet, and don't touch anything.

  • It is a well known fact that the "Cub Scouts", as they are so-called, is a para-military youth group - they have a "code" they recite without fail, and they have been known to do almost anything to earn a "merit" badge for various covert para-military actions, which they are known to 'flaunt' excessively in hopes of being promoted on to the next stage of indoctrination into their Web(elo's) Den of terror and espionage...

Do not turn your back on these boychurian candidates -

      LOL.

I was sipping coffee as I read that. It promptly vacated my body through my nose and is now all over my keyboard.

    Kay,

I flew just YESTERDAY! I had the patdown, as usual. For those that don't know, HERE is how it GENERALLY works....

They put on new gloves, that are generally those nitrile ones, and then frisk you. They make sure to touch EVERYTHING! They get the collar, around the waiste band, down all four sides of your pants legs, socks, maybe the cuffs of the pants.

THEN, they rub a pad all over their gloves, and put it in a machine to check. If you handled material that contained anything that that machine is looking for, and then dressed immediately, it would likely detect it.

Well, THIS time, it was DIFFERENT! He checked his gloves FIRST! I said "USUALLY, they just use NEW gloves!". He said "They ARE new gloves, I just want to make sure that they are clean. Sometimes we get false positives.". Kind of makes you feel safe, HUH?

Of course, if I were a criminal doing this, I would have a special place to build the bomb material, pack it up, undress, go into another room to clean up, go home to sleep, get up, and take ANOTHER shower, maybe even a BATH. THEN I would go there.

    Steve
