Hello fellow warriors. I am soon 16 years old, and I am a internet marketer and is soon opening a new company. My father is always complaining that I am not spending any time with my friends and that the computer ruins my life. He knows that I earn a income over internet but still he is complaining...

I sit around 5-13h a day at the computer (depending if weekend or not) and I agree, I spend alot of time infront of my computer, and I like it! I got some nice friends over internet that I really enjoy talking to

What do you think, am I spending to much time at my computer? I don't got many friends to hang out with either. He is threathing me to throw the internet out if I don't stop being at the darn pc all day.

And as I am soon opening a company that will take up so many hours per day, this can really hurt us as a company if I cant be online and support my customars/clients.

Well Emil, since WF users are supposed to be 18 (yeah, they're enforcing it now), you'll have some time to step away from the computer .

What? I guess its a good rule to keep the forum away from LQ posts... to bad for me... But I would like a more serious answer.

I agree with pretty much everybody here.

Go outside. (It will be bright. Bring sunglasses.)
Look at real girls. (Yes, they're in 3D! Some are even in 3DD, if you get my drift...)
Hang out with friends. Real, physical, you-can-actually-touch-them friends.

The next five or six years of your life are keystone years for you. Don't lose them by sitting in front of the computer poking people on Facebook. Go out and poke them in person. (Disclaimer: Always Poke Responsibly)

I envy you. Take advantage of what is coming in your life. Now go. Don't even finish reading this. Get outside. Run. FROLIC. Just don't frolic too much. That's how rumors start.

id rather have you as a son than some gamer kid. Someone said, go outside and look at girls. Once you get old(er) you can still look, but they dont look back

hey my 8 yr old kid can sit at the PC for an hour or two and he is getting Ipad time at school. Times change, kids change. He at least enjoys football! I think when he get a bit older and if Im still doing this Im going to put him to work

Yeah, this is all good advise, but from someone who spends around 10 hours a day on the Laptop, there are also IM,ers who are young and have made serious money online.

Mainly because they slept near their PC,s and worked like dogs for usually 4 to 5 years!

Then they could produce teaching courses, etc by using their sales results as proof of their success.

I develop software, and have seen very successful, relatively young people out there, become successful through sheer hard work, then use their sales results, as proof that their almost useless software will help them. Which it usually doesn't.

So if you want to work hard and become successful without your Laptop ending up on the sidewalk, l would strongly recommend outsourcing, your most tedious, or repetitive tasts.

You can hire someone from the Philippines for $250 a month full time, or India, etc. That can substantially decrease your time online!

      Good luck.
