Default Beware. FBI computer lock Virus is a scam.

I want to warn others about this virus going around.

A few days ago. I got a virus from somewhere that locked my computers operating system. It stated it was from the FBI and that I was looking at child porn, and had child porn stored on my computer, (Which I do not) so I knew it was a scam/virus right away.

It said I had to pay a $200.00 Fine through moneypak or I would be arrested. Please don't send this scam any money.

It technically didn't lock out my computer. I just restarted it and was back to using my computer.

Though the next morning, I did backup my files, reformat the hard drive and reinstall the operating system to make sure that virus wasn't still on my pc.

I wanted to warn people of this virus so you don't fall victim.

No offense, but anyone in the United states with 1/2 a brain would know that was false.
The FBI won't ask for money. They would just bust ytour door down and take everything you own with out warning.

I dunno, the premise makes sense:

FBI: We know you're looking at child porn! It's one of (if not the) most reviled crimes of them all!

Schmuck: OMG! I'm going to jail!

FBI: Yes, because we take this seriously! However, if you were to give us $200 through this obscure payment processor...

None taken. I know most should/would know it's fake. But sadly there are some people out there that would go for the scam.

Unfortunately. There are still plenty who fall for the Nigerian scams. Makes you think.

Like the idiots who download child porn
I imagine someone who did have child porn on their computer would be having a heart attack before they got to the pay up part.
So actually that scam may do some good

Joe,
I tried to warn you that if you posed for that Nigerian photgrapher the pictures would eventually get out!

Bookmarks for "Thanks" in the morning.

I'm really hating that limit today.

ROFL. I would hope that those A holes fall for it. The ones that download child porn deserve to see that message and maybe they will have a heart attack.

So your right. That scam is probably doing some good.

I don't like wishing people illness or heart attacks etc. But those who download child porn are disgusting.

I had an uncle who was in his 70's. He died a few years ago. He would go over to his daughters house and download porn along with his daughters husband. Too bad they never got sentenced to prison.

His daughter got divorced from her husband when she found out. I was about 10 at the time and my uncle asked me to come into the room and take a look on the computer. I took one look and then kicked him in the balls.

They went to jail for awhile but the stupid judge dismissed the charges.

He even once tried to unzip my pants when I was 8 while I was sleeping over his house one night. He claimed he was just adjusting my covers. Yeah right. You don't unzip a kids pants to adjust their covers.
