Sitemap is list of URLs present in website. It list all internal links and main links together which makes easy for search engines to crawl them.

Any expert SEO’er should publish an XML sitemap for each of their customers. A sitemap is like composing out guidelines for the google on how to spider your webpages. Sure, the google can discover all the webpages on their own, but with obvious guidelines, they are going to be able to discover and spider more webpages quicker and simpler.

Sitemap is really helpful for Search engine and visitors both. It helps search engine to crawl easily each and every pages, so it is also good for website.

Sitemaps are very important for a website. Sitemaps are a way of "keeping in touch" with Google, and I think everyone wants to keep in touch with Google as frequently as possible. It helps to get all your pages indexed.
