Don't bet on the 6v battery having 32 AA batteries! That is pretty stupid, a REAL WASTE, and I know for a FACT that batteries like the 9v may be made differently. I have seen some that had round cells, like AAA, only smaller of course, and some had cells more akin to watch batteries, but not packaged for outside use. That casing, and terminals, are expensive in many ways, so you would think that they would pick the way that can get more power at a lower cost., and with less effort. It is cheaper to make one big cell that runs on its own to make 8 smaller cells that need to be hooked up, etc... The deal here is that they have 8 cells hooked up, in parallel, to make a kind of super AA so they can hook up 4 sets, in series, to make a 6 volt battery. The standard battery cell is about 1.5v.

I am already saving a ton of money on batteries by using the rechargeable ones for AA. The little charger cost under $20 and I bet I have saved hundreds already -

I wish they had one for AAA but haven't found one.

They're out there, Pat. I have Rayovac Universal charger that handles AAA, AA, C, D, and 9V batteries.

The unit cost about $25. I got it at a Fleet Farm store years and years ago. That's a chain store, but they're only in Minnesota, Wisconsin, Iowa and North Dakota.

Mines an older version of this: Amazon.com: Rayovac PS3 Original Universal Smart...Amazon.com: Rayovac PS3 Original Universal Smart...
Costs a little more now, but here's a lower cost one: Amazon.com: Rayovac PS3D Universal Battery...Amazon.com: Rayovac PS3D Universal Battery...

Note to mods: those are NOT affiliate links.

Like you, this small investment as saved me hundreds, of not thouands of dollars over the years.

I have an Energizer recharger with batteries. It's been about 10 years and I'm still using the same rechargable batteries I bought back then.

They're only supposed to last a few years, but they are still going. While they don't last as long between charges as they did years ago, they still work well enough.

To be honest, I don't know why everyone doesn't switch over to rechargable...

I originally bought some Energizers too. One set lasted about 8 years before they started leaking. The other set is still going, so they must be at least 12 years old. The cost savings is tremendous.

Yep, l agree, the smaller hand made 9V, wouldn't last as long, but it would be great for projects that need a short burst of energy!

I bet that there are people on Ebay selling these batteries for half price, not a bad business!

Hmmm, have done some research on YouTube, it unfortunately looks like the AA battery thing is a scam, two people have bought similar battery's, but with no luck, although l am sure that the smaller battery with the watch batteries would still be valid!

6v battery contains 32 AA batteries: Debunked! - YouTube

You NEVER know. Maybe some WERE made that way. Of course, it IS interesting that they fell out so easily, and weren't connected. In the 9V example I gave earlier, with the ones that were like AAA batteries, only smaller, they were soldered together. In the other type I have seen, the batteries(really just cells) were arranged like the batteries in the IA32 one.

Probably the guy who made the first video owns the world's largest 6 volt battery company and by making that video his sales quadrupled overnight with people from YouTube thinking that they would be saving money. Or not.

More likely, the guy just found a way to make a video that was sure to go viral! Nearly 3 1/2 million views so far. Not bad at all!

At least it quickly got SUPER ridiculous! That car battery one was getting dangerously close to being SUIT WORTHY, and I don't mean it would be wearing clothes.
