Interesting. Some of these drugs I never even heard of.

It really is, lol!

But what's missing is the self portrait when not under the influence of anything for comparison.

Overall, he is a talented artist, if not too bright. I mean I wouldn't put most of that crap in my body for anything!

There is no way Absinth would be that bad. If abilify were that bad, they probably wouldn't approve it. And mushrooms are supposed to be that good? YEAH RIGHT!

I think this is a fraud!

The second drawing down looks like "Chunk's" new friend from the movie "Goonies".

I wonder if it talked to him when he was drawing it.

Everything talks to you under the influence of shrooms.

Even the bloody cows...

The first time I saw this I was blown away by the differences in what he drew each time and his own perception of himself. Even the amount of force used to apply the media to the page. It really makes you think what they do to your brain.

That, and it would be helpful to know if he was trying to draw a realistic picture or interpretive (trying to stylize the drawing). That could produce two very different outcomes.

If he was trying to make a realistic drawing of himself each time, then some of those mental conditions produced by the drugs are even scarier.

You must be on drugs to think legal drugs automatically have less harmful side effects than illegal drugs.

That is for sure!

I can't imagine what he might do if he wasn't using art for the expression of the "high"!

He's nuts for taking drugs for the sake of art. Just read the literature the drug store includes on commonly prescribed antibiotics that shows any number of problems that can occur. It's enough to make you not want to even take that when your doctor says you need it.

The guy is taking an awful chance, perhaps he has no real imagination and should be doing something else instead.

Some of the world's greatest Artists, Writers, Musicians, and Playwrights have been tortured souls who took solace in "the stuff that dreams are made of"...

So much so, it would be hard to imagine some of their works without it...

I'd hate to think that "every drug known to man" is cocaine, bath salts, absinth, Abilify, and mushrooms.

I still can't condone drugs for other than a doctor prescribing as necessary, regardless of beautiful music or artwork, etc. It's just stupid to do that to your body. It's still wrong to do something wrong so that you get the result you want.

It was "every drug known to that man" but static and distance obscured a word when he as high as the moon. Here's an article that sort of explains it:

Neil Armstrong speech: 'That's one small step for 'a' man' famous mankind words were misquoted | Mail Online

Well that explains it. And I'm glad to learn that the drugs the artist took aren't the only drugs known to man. I wouldn't want to have to take cocaine every time that I need relief from constipation.

Pablo Picasso once said, "We all know that Art is not truth. Art is a lie that makes us realize truth, at least the truth that is given us to understand. The artist must know the manner whereby to convince others of the truthfulness of his lies."

This is very interesting. Quite a good idea that he'd draw after taking these.

Why take drugs when you can read quotes from Pablo Picasso which have the same effect?

Re: Artist Takes Every Drug Known to Man, Draws Self Portraits After Each Use

Intersting for sure!

At first I thought "awesome" but then realized it's all a bit exagerated.

Absinthe doesn't belong there and even the old stuff doesn't have a profound effect. The lackluster distillation process simply resulted in bad batches which poisoned people and cause minor feelings of a presence together with sickness. 1 small glass wouldn't touch the surface.

Althought the mushrooms image looks like a typical trippy image you aren't likely to find many people who can draw to that level of detail whilst they are actually under the influence. If they can draw like that they aren't under enough in my opinion. People who draw such images usually do so in the "afterglow" when they have an enhanced creative ability in a sober state imposed by the mushrooms.

To pick nits further, I'd have expected to see some level of consistency in the artists style but it just looks like he's went all out to exagerate.

Still really interesting though to see what can be done through exegeration on each!

That scared me, I'll say that much. Yikes. I hardly ever drink, but it scared me out of drinking in my next life even if I come back as another animal.

wow. Very interesting, yet disturbing. Drug abuse is a major problem. I have seen it take over my workplace. I have a small business, and I now drug test regularly, because though this might seem acceptable to an artist, it is not acceptable to for my employee who is picking up the elderly. I found a great place to buy tests online at drugtestsinbulk., if anyone is interested. I searched for a place to buy these tests in person, but they were far too expensive and hard to find believe it or not. The online place had the best selection and prices.
