Dilemma Solved: Wordpress Mini-Crisis - Advice Please?

My blog running since 2005 and long-neglected -

Written in very old Wordpress version (upgraded/but still 'fixed' theme)

Here are symptoms:

Article Excerpts - that is all there is - if you click to read the entire article it weirds out -

So there is no 'read more' function either for displayed or archived articles.

... and if you look real close clicking the title to read more of an article, it results in

Fatal error: Call to undefined function digg_button() in /home/t3dptynw/public_html/3rdpartynet-christian-classics/blog/wp-content/themes/default/single.php on line 25

I could never find any 'niche' to DIGG for this site - ironic that somehow this has to do with a digg button?????

I get around pretty fair in Wordpress but this site is customized and hence problematic - through various Wordpress upgrades. (but i have that problem with a few sites) 3

I would not mess with single.php in the WP appearance editor unless I was sure what I was doing - not to mention trying to recover an error state.

I Skyped Mike Law in New Zealand - he put it together for me originally and had done maintenence over the years. but haven't spoken to him in years now - so no telling if he will respond or be willing to fix it or tell me exactly what to do to fix it.

So I hope there are some kindly Wordpress WiZs around here?

(haven't posted since 2010 lol = why do i suck at marketing?) ya think?

    I don't know much about troubleshooting Wordpress as others, but the first thing I would do is try going back to previous revisions before updating anything.. if that's even possible.

    If that works and you get the full articles again, you can backup, and then update WP to a newer version.

    Yes that would be fine if I can't get it fixed just by fixing the line or settings

    or something QUICKER THAN DISASTER RECOVERY MODE.

    Thanks I will remember that is the worst case scenario so no need to panic.

    old school but i can also do audio/headphone call

    if you can just tell me what setting or file to go to and what i need to do, I bet you can walk me through it.

      You can share your screen with my via skype while we talk, and I can walk you through editing the file(s) with the WP editor. You'll need to edit at least the single.php file if there is one, or index.php if there isn't a single.
