Dear Fellow Warriors,

Yes. I'm a strait-shooter here, and I need work. Gimme a design job, any job.

I need to raise $850 before Monday the 23rd at 4:30pm, or I'll loose my home, car (won't start), and internet connection I use as my only source of income right now. I'm not used to asking for support.

This is the only Marketing forum I'm an active member of (since 2006). To me this is like a home away from home, and I love helping people reach their dreams.

I'm one of the best in graphic design and I work fast. Other designers charge $950 + for what I'm willing to give back in exchange for any of the items below:

I just found the thread a couple of minutes ago, and am sorry to hear about your troubles. I hate to hear that about anyone, especially a warrior. I sent you a PM. It's not much at the moment, but it could lead to steady work each month, and also bring in other income.

Anyway, I am quite shooked as well because the warriors usually ralley for one of their own.

There is only so much rallying we can do here. Honestly, Grant's attitude in one of the posts above could be a problem as well.

This has just been way too common of occurrences seeing these threads. Asking for help hours before the money is due isn't the smartest idea either.

Anyway, good luck Grant. I hope things work out for you.

I really don't need any design work done. Otherwise I might give it a shot.

Also, since I've been here, I've seen a lot of threads asking for help (donations, please hire me for something cause I have an urgent problem) because of some situation or another that someone needs help in.

There is only so much people can do. Can't help every single person who is in need of help or I'm sure several ppl would. I'd save the world if I was able to.

Best of luck to you though. Maybe people who need designs will hire you.

Actually, the ask for help was done sooner than hours before it was due--I posted a thread in this Main forum stating that Grant needed assistance last Wednesday, but then it was moved to the off-topic forum (even though another thread asking for help for someone else was left here in the Main forum).

I've known Grant for over a year and a half and something that the majority of members here don't know is that there have been several times that Grant has given money to other members when they needed assistance because that's the type of person who he is. In fact, I know of one instance in particular when Grant emptied his paypal account to help a member here with their medical expenses. and now when he's in need of assistance a lot of people appear to be turning the other way. Maybe being aware of all this might explain that what you refer to as Grant's "attitude" is simply frustration with the circumstances and having to ask for help because he is one who is accustomed to offering help without expecting anything in return. Even now, he is offering his products and services at reduced rates...trying to give something of himself back to those who can help.

For those of you who aren't familiar with Grant's work, he creates top-notch graphics and websites. Anyone who knows Grant's work or products will tell you the same. He views his work as a personal extension of himself and customer satisfaction is his top priority. One of the things I respect most about him is his dedication to the work he does and commitment to providing quality prdoucts and services to every customer. Anyone who decides to take advantage of this right now is definitely getting a great deal.

You make some good points, and I understand, but perhaps the attitude reflects fear and worry more then anything else. And yes, you are right, there have been a number of these types of threads popping up in the forum lately, and not everyone can be covered.

I didn't think it would hurt to put in a good word at the moment though, and still don't. Lol Warriors are Warriors, and they mostly try to help one another. I think you know what I'm saying so ...

That's something I'm not knowledgeable about, but it sounds like a possibility later.

The biggest challenge I'm facing right now, is the time constraint-

I live in an apartment, but it's my home, set up as an office for the most part.

If I can make my goal, I can pay rent and they won't lock me out. The apartment office manager will also cancel my court date which is set on Tuesday morning, 9:30am.

If I can't, I have to start packing early monday afternoon, and pay other expenses on top of what I owe the property management. I focus on that as little as possible.

Right now, it's not an option- only a possibility that might show up

I need lots of work done for my upcoming product launch, but the main
problem is, I don't know what I want for a design for this project. I don't
even know what all the things are I need.

I guess I need:

graphical header for sales page
ecovers
cd covers
dvd covers
squeeze page design

And I want everything to match...You know.

I don't want to give any of the details here at the forum because you
know about spies and all.

The time it's going to take just to test some design ideas is going to take
us way past your deadline.

Like I said, I wish you had posted this sooner. I love to help out people
when I can, but there just isn't enough time right now.

Let us know how you made out. It sounds like you'll have more than half what you need, but less than the full amount. Hopefully it will be enough to buy you perhaps a time extension. And it sounds like there is additional work that you might be able to line up in the next couple days (assuming you are able to maintain reasonable internet connection).

Steven... I think there was a mention earlier in the thread, that this originally got posted in a different section of the forum last week and then just got moved recently to the Off-Topic section... so it appeared that Grant didn't ask for help until today, but in fact he did make an effort earlier. I'm guessing based on the numbers quoted earlier that Grant still needs additional work and hopefully getting it as soon as is logistically possible, will be soon enough. I know I hope so.

So Grant.... touch base when something has been decided as many of us will be thinking about you.

Hold on guys, I think we did it...

Going to the apartment office right now to double check on this.

We did it!

We made the goal and went over for a total of $930.80

Went up to the apartment office to double check the amount that had to be paid, plus the late fees that accumulated over time.

That total came to $897.63 (can't remember the exact number because I wrote it down on the back of the eviction notice, and later had them shred the thing

Things like this don't happen with just normal folk. And I don't believe they happen in normal places. People are different here. We care about each other. We do things in the best interests of other people, even when it may seem to them, were being mean.

We're not.
