Free plugin/software that allows one to record what one does on their desktop from the PC?

Lots of different software out there to do it,but not any good free ones.
but you might want to check this out.
Snagit, Mac and Windows screen capture software from TechSmith

Someone recently told me of another program,it has a 30 day trial,as does Snagit, but I am not at my regular PC right now so I can't look it up for you.

Sorry, I got distracted,and didn't finish my original thought,should have said not any free ones that I know of.

Edit: I forgot about FRAPS, I've used it in gaming long long time ago.
