  • Oh, no...that calculation must be WAY off...

According to the email I got from WND just this morning....trying to sell me a book.

Happy Birthday! Earth is almost 6016 years old

Greatest ancient history book says world created Oct. 23, 6,016 years ago

    How old is the world?

Most people would say: "Nobody knows."

But the author of the book* frequently described as the greatest history book ever written, said the world was created Oct. 23, 4004 B.C. – making it exactly 6,016 next month!

The book, now published in English for the first time, is a favorite of homeschoolers and those who take ancient history seriously. (edit:my bolding)

The guy that wrote the book can't be wrong...he was a Bishop (in 1650) - they got to wear robes and hats and all that stuff...

            Shower cap, or tinfoil?

that last line I put in is what scares me the most I think..."is a favorite of homeschoolers and those who take ancient history seriously."

(note: I wasn't trying to go off on a rant hijack...I just thought it was funny to get both these stories at the same time...we now return this thread to it's regularly scheduled astronomy...)

Tinfoil so the aliens and and the IM'ers from the future can't read my mind and discover my brilliant marketing strategies and my plans to rule the world.

Good idea because I've heard that Mr. Myers doesn't like that we discuss religion
