City may sue developer who spent $20,000 to remove 40 tons of trash from vacant lot

“This was a lot of garbage,” Elaine McGrath, a local resident, told the Philadelphia Daily News. “Now it’s gorgeous. I’m excited.”

This horrible man who defies the endless red tape of proudly incompetent taxpayer-paid bureaucrats plans to continue to "maintain the garden and pick up trash and so it looks the way a lot should look in the city of Philadelphia and not a piece of squalor."

I didn't read the links, but I would bet that there is more to this story than the headlines show.

Yeah, the City is being way bigger of a douche about it than the headlines let on.

      Give it a read

How ridiculous can local governments get? Apparently as ridiculous as the bigger govts.

What I take away from this story is the city could save money by firing some of the useless bureaucrats.

In my perfect world this would go to court - and the court would order the city to pay all costs including the money the guy paid to clean up the mess.

Dear April: I don't want any trouble from you.
January was long, February was iffy, March was a freaking dumpster fire.
So sit down, be quiet, and don't touch anything.

Sounds reasonable to me...He did go through proper request channels...what puzzles me is why he was denied even when he offer to do it at his cost...

(except they'll just use taxpayer monies to pay for something they should have done in the first place...but at least he gets his money back - and proves you can fight city hall...)

  • LOL! I was just about to post this story! Lucky I checked this thread!

    Is this CrAzY or what?

I especially like the "the city agency was less excited, demanding that Feibush return the vacant lot to its previous condition and saying it is considering legal action against him.
