Hello, everyone!

Having recently heard about this forum, I decided to sign up. I'm a content/copywriter with a couple of years experience, mostly working as a freelancer for one company. I'd like to expand my knowledge and meet others in the same business, and this seems the perfect place to do it.

I'd like to think I'm a pretty good writer but I lack formal training or broad experience, so I'm hoping to pick up some useful information. I'm also looking for other (better-paying) opportunities.

I have narrow experience in the field, but have accomplished quite a bit in the last two years. I've written well over 1000 link-building articles and copy for dozens of websites, got briefly kicked upstairs into a senior editor position and helped manage an intern program for young writers, then was downsized back into a freelance position (which suits me better).

I'm a travel addict - I'm currently in Bucharest, Romania, but am going back to Varna, Bulgaria next week. It's my current base of operations and I'm in the process of getting a long-term visa there.

Originally from Texas, I have been a professional musician for most of my adult life, left my last home in the States (New Orleans) in 2003 and haven't looked back. I've lived in Holland, France and now Bulgaria, and have spent a lot of time traveling around Europe.

I feel lucky to be a 'digital nomad' and am hoping to make the leap eventually from copy and article writing to something more creative (although I do believe that good copywriting is a creative and worthwhile pursuit). I still have dreams of writing the 'Great American Ex-Pat Novel', or something along those lines, maybe just some 'serious' travel writing, but meanwhile I'm enjoying just learning to hone my craft while making money at it.

So, enough about me.

Let's talk about me...

Just kidding.

Cheers, or as they say in Romania: "Noroc!"

Not to bump my own thread, but I received a PM from someone offering me work and apparently I can't reply to PM's until I've made enough posts.

I do plan to post in the main forum (where my posts will actually count), but I wanted to get a feel for things before I started blabbing away.

Anyway, after crying myself to sleep when no one responded to my 'hello' thread, I was a bit surprised to find a PM this morning asking how much I charge for articles.

So, after carefully crafting a response in which I hoped I had made it clear that I don't work for peanuts, I hit the reply button to find that, alas, I have to make my minimum 50 posts first.

Not being one who likes to shrug off job offers, and not wishing to rush through 50 posts, I decided (somewhat reluctantly) to go ahead and add my Skype address to my public profile. All I ask is please don't spam me or try to get me to work for nothing, but if you do have a serious offer requesting quality copy, articles, etc., and are willing to pay a decent amount, by all means do get in touch.

BTW, 'Bud Jameson' is a pseudonym, and that picture is not really me, as some of you may have already realized.
