Thank Heavens For DNS...And A Lesson On Getting Out Of Your Comfort Zone

I broke my finger and typing is now a pain.

Thank heavens for DNS.

I never really used it as much as I should but now I'm going to use it a lot.

I guess sometimes you have to be forced to use things to find out how they
could have helped you more in the first place.

I think that's true with a lot of things in IM and life.

You fight against doing something new because it's outside of your comfort
zone. As a result, your business stagnates as does your income. Then,
something kicks you in the butt (maybe it's unexpected bills or worse) and
you realize you have to start getting you backside in gear.

As great a work ethic as I have, I too have learned that I sometimes need
that kick in the pants to get me out of my comfort zone.

As a result of my latest injury, I will now get more work done in less time
because I'm forced to stop typing for a while (8 weeks to be exact).

So this is what I'd like you all to do right now, especially those who are
struggling with their business.

I want you to think of one area where you're stuck in a comfort zone and
think about what you can do right now to get out of that comfort zone.

It doesn't have to be anything involving money (like spending more on
advertising) but it should be something that you've been having trouble
pushing yourself into do.

For example, if you're an affiliate marketer but you know that you really
can make more money creating your own product, especially because it's a
niche you know so well, get out of your comfort zone of pushing other
people's products and go create that first product. I know it's going to
be hard at first. You're probably going to be scared to death. But trust me,
after you've done it, you'll say to yourself, "What was I so afraid of?"

Give it a shot.

What do you have to lose?

I think he broke his finger from typing all those articles right and left.

      Hope it mends well!

But you're right, Steven ... sometimes you do have to break out of your comfort zone ... you'd be surprised at how much you learn and grow from such a thing - no matter what that is. Some people find their life calling from such experiences. New jobs, realize they are in a bad relationship ... all sorts of things.

DNS is the bomb. It really does work very well nowadays. If any of you haven't tried it, give it a shot. Take some time with it and train it, as it gets better the more you use it. Get a good quality mic setup and I have a feeling you will be very happy with the results.

If you're using Vista before you drop the $$$$ on DNS try the built in voice recognition software.

I use it an it works great.

I just bought a new lap top and the voice recognition built into vista is working VERY poorly for me. Tons of mistakes. Almost every single sentence. On my older computer I'm still running XP and use DNS 9 and it's is a thousand times better.

DNS 9 won't work on the new lap top because of the 64 bit operating system so I ordered DNS 10 prefered and I can't wait until it gets here.

I'm glad the vista voice recognition program is working for you but it sucks for me.

Get a professional voice over for your next audio or video project at an affordable price -- I will record 150 words of text for just $5.

    Interesting Steven.....

I was under the impression from some other posts that you made in the past that you were a regular user of DNS.

Your post lengths certainly screams DNS lol

    Come on Man...

You only broke 1 finger...harden up! You can
still type with the other ones.

On that note...I hope your using V10 it kicks
ass over the others. Its even a great improvement
up from 9.5. I find the accuracy is way better in V10.

    Take Care,

      Steven,

I sure hope it's on your strumming hand...I totaled two of my fingers a few years ago and couldn't pick up my axe for almost two years. All my chops went away

But since I type using only one finger I have seven spares, so I got that going for me...:p

Hang in there. I guess I'll be playing around with the VRS on my Vista machine tonight now that I just found out about it.

God, the world moves so fast...

There are people that can type slower than a dictation system can recognise the words?
If you're not typing 100wpm+, then you need to take a typing course if you want to stay in this industry.

Since when do you need to be a typist to be a marketer?

This might be the stupidest statement I've heard in 6 plus years of doing
      this.
