I remember watching this movie as a teenager (the one below this post). I was alone in the house on a Saturday afternoon and remember turning the TV on and it had just started. I didn't know anything of the story behind it or anything at all but just became completely engrossed in it. I don't mind admitting at the end I was pretty upset and I completely balled my eyes out, but don't tell anyone. I've never watched anything that affected me like that, before or after. I've seen it on youtube since and it's still sad even though I know the ending. So my question is and has probably been asked before but what movie, if any has made you cry the most? |

I had to think of some that have also had that impact on me...not that I was crying my eyes out, but they were touching, or disturbing - they tend to be documentaries, like "The Stoning of Soraya M." - but others based on true stories which had impact were "Hotel Rwanda" and "Schindler's List", because the drama and heartache are based on man's inhumanity to man, and indomitable spirit. I've probably been tempered over the years though...I used to have a girlfriend that cried when Pee Wee Herman had his bike stolen

Some movies have had that effect on me, but I can't recall which. I think the end credits on movies are there for males to preserve their macho image and wait until their eyes dry out.

I cried when I found out they cast Tom Cruise as Jack Reacher in the upcoming movie. Tears of rage, they were. I'll admit, however, that Monsters, Inc. caught me by surprise. I teared up a little and my wife has never let me forget it. |

Each episode shows the family as well as what Lassie'd doing as she tries to get home. In the third one Lassie's been gone so long they finally throw in the towel. In the final scene Timmy has taken all Lassie's toys and stuff out to their special spot under their special tree to bury it all. Just as he's putting the stuff in the hole you see Lassie way off in the background running toward lil' Timmy. Man, I was nearly hysterical watching that crying my head off (not even caring it's not cool for boys to cry). [he writes as the tears well up just thinking about it]

I have to admit that this clip here made my eyes teary, when Sixto Rodriguez stepped onto the stage in South Africa. I don't understand my reaction to it -- it was automatic: Rodriguez: The rock icon who didn't know it - 60 Minutes - CBS News |

I did see a lot of people crying when they came out of "The Hunger Games" a few months back... When I asked why they were crying, it was because they had just shelled out $10 to see it - ![]() I can only imagine how those people felt who camped out for a month to see the last Star Wars movie! |

I've never cried at a movie; but at Up I did get some uhm salt in my eye from the uhm popcorn, yes that was it. My youngest son then had the nerve to ask - VERY loudly so everyone could hear - "Why are you crying daddy?", but it was just salt in the eyes..... That's my story and I'm sticking to it. --Jack ps my wife and I went through infertility treatments for 3 years, and 2 failed adoptions, before we got our 2 boys.....just an FYI.

After seeing Saving Private Ryan, nearly all the men in the theater were crying and the women were looking like WTF. Not me, of course. I might've sniffled a little bit. I don't remember. |

As for movies that made me cry, I can't think of one. That doesn't mean there haven't been any, just that I can't think of one. It doesn't help that I haven't watched a movie in years, I suppose.

Well I don't recall crying after watching a movie, well of course if laugh tiers don't count Though I have cried after reading a book when I was little. But probably a movie that touched me the most, even kinda shocked me was Seven Pounds an incredible movie by Will Smith. I could call it the best movie I have seen. Definitely worth watching. |

| Well, yes it was! In my eyes, if a movie can move me to the point of tears whether they be tears of sorrow or happy tears, it is an excellent movie. It hit the emotional triggers just as the writers, producers, actors/actresses, etc. intended it to. If the movie takes me on a roller coaster ride between tears of sorrow and happy tears, even better. ![]() Terra |
