So...What Would You Like To Bitch About Today?

I smile when I read some of the posts here at this forum, and other forums
for that matter.

You can usually find at least a half dozen or so that complain about one
thing or another. If it's not Google, it's Ezine Articles. If it's not them, it's
Wordpress.com not allowing you to promote affiliate products on their blogs

(Yes, read their TOS)

How's this for a novel concept?

Instead of bitching about things that you have no control of, how about
doing what you can to make the most if it?

Google Adwords making it harder on advertisers by requiring better landing
pages?

Make a better landing page for crying out loud!

EZA making it harder by raising their standards for article submissions and
old articles that you're resubmitting with new resource boxes are getting
rejected?

How about writing a better article that at least a monkey would bother
reading?

Ticked off because WordPress took down your blog because of promoting
affiliate products?

How about digging a crowbar into your wallet and springing $9 for a
domain and a lousy $5 a month for hosting? Or, if you can't afford that,
get a Blogger blog. At least they allow you to promote affiliate products?

Instead of complaining about all the big, bad, mean things that all these
companies are doing to you, how about sitting down and thinking out
alternative strategies?

How about making a positive impact on your business by doing something
for it rather than complaining about it?

End of rant.

Now, I like to know what others think.

Am I making sense or have the meds gone to my head?

    Steve,

I think the meds have gone to your head.

Do you really think those who come here day in and day out and bitch and moan will stop coming and doing what they have always done?

I come here daily. Enjoy reading the post and everyday I learn something new. I've learned to avoid most of the crying and complaining post. They are time killers.

Don't post very much because most of the Warriors (my opinion) are far more better at explaining IM and answering questions than me.

Anyway, always enjoy reading your post. And, I visit EZA from time to time to catch up on your latest articles.

Funny you should say this. Just last night a friend on Skype noticed my voice sounds really depressed. He kept saying 'what is wrong' and I kept saying 'nothing'.

Finally I said 'nothing I want to talk about especially but I am not mad at you or anything, I am just in a bad mood'. He started talking about depression and I explained I am not depressed in general but I get there from one thing that is bothering me and then I will 'stew' about it for long periods.

I mentioned the old adage '...give me the strength to accept the things I cannot change' and that I am just being an obstinate brat, because what bothers me is something I have no control over and can't change.

There is literally nothing I can do except to learn to accept it and move on. I seem to be in tantrum mode on that and refuse to do this - I wonder what I am trying to prove?

Sooooo, I do agree if you have the power to change something, go for it - Have the victory over it. "No better revenge than success".

If not, I don't know what to do. "Get over it" - "Move on" - Yeh, but HOW?

Steven - quit yer bitchin'! ()

Patricia, here's something you need to remember: we can't always change what's happening around us, but we can always change our attitude!

Quite often when something upsets me, I'll be like you and be in a real funk about it, sometimes for hours! But then I remember that, hey, I don't have to!

It's a real pain when things happen and we can't do a damned thing about it, one of those accept it moments. I'm not very good at accepting it...when someone becomes a pain in my rear, I will often go out of my way to become a pain in theirs, payback, you know.

Okay, not the most adult reaction, I know, but it sure is refreshing. But there are always things we can't do anything about, especially in the online world!

Myself, I like being happy. I imagine you do, too, so think about changing your attitude to something that makes you happy. Your heart will appreciate it.

And smile, always, no matter what. It's really hard to stay angry when you have a smile on your face.

    Hope that helps.

Now here's what I want to bitch about... (j/k...)

I wouldn't think about complaining. Its a truly beautiful day. 21 years
ago I beat a rare disease with a 90% mortality rate and have been on
"bonus" time every since. Somebody else I know that posts here beat
something equally as deadly. I still have a tendency to have a little road
rage but this week a judge in Pennsylvania (I think) declared that flipping
the New Jersey salute at someone is protected free speech. Life is good.

Yeah I don't have much time for complainers either. When I was growing up my dear Mum was often going on about something. So I decided never to do that myself because it annoyed me. I think if people stop whining and complaining and actually do something they'll be much happier.

I need to whine about my medications! I have just been changed to new ones and now I am tired all the time - and nauseous most of the time!

I can only just summon the willpower to do the work I need to to pay my bills. And I have fallen in love with a purple car - I really want that car! and it will only cost me about $2500 - but for the next few weeks it will be all I can do to get the work done to pay my bills let alone extra to buy a lovely car! (i can even get my wheelcahir in it without having to collapse it - I would be able to travel by myself - I haven't been able to do that for years!).

I do hope it doesn't get sold before I can adjust to my meds and earn the money to buy it! - does anyone have a spare $2,500 for a disabled, sick lady who has fallen in love with a purple car?? LOL

Thanks for the opportunity to Bitch Steven, I'm off to throw up - then lie down until the room stops spinning!

Focus on the positives Nicola. That's what I do. There's always something to be happy about. You may be in wheelchair and on medication, but at least you have your vision and can appreciate all the beauty in the World. Some people can't. I'm sure there's more to be happy about too. No point complaining when you have so much to be happy about. I hope you get enough money to buy that car.

Oh, man! Well, I guess I can't trust ZigZag! People who are always positive and cheery are scary.

Hey, Valerie, you need to bitch, email me. I'll give you a sympathetic shoulder to cry on and then I'll make up a terrible story to make your complaint look like cream pie, ok? Something like, "You think the economy is bad for you? That's nothing! It's so bad for me I go to Kentucky Fried Chicken just to lick OTHER people's fingers!"

For me there's a difference between always being positive and upbeat and positive thinking.

Something which has served me well throughout my life is to concentrate on the positives particularly when I'm feeling down about something. I think that's a much more effective and better alternative than complaining about something.

Depends what you mean. Please explain.

Sometimes people can't think positively when they're fighting demons. Depends on the strength of the demon at the time. Sometimes positive thinking can help. Cultivating positive thinking generally can help them to recover and will prepare them for their next battle.

Many people who fight the kind of demons I fight never fully recover. It completely ruins their lives. Permanently. That's why I don't have much time for people who complain about trivial things like WordPress.

Oh OK. Well sometimes. I do my best to be positive.

When you've been to the kind of places I've been to you learn to be more grateful and appreciative of all the wonderful things you have and all the beauty in the World. Sometimes just looking up at the glimmering stars is enough to make me smile. *Chuckle* Doesn't really take much these days.

And you learn to see the positives no matter what's happening. That's something I've worked hard for and something I'm proud of. So if people don't like "positive thinking" and "positive people" ... Well ... That's their problem.
