I woke up last night and couldn't go back to sleep so went online for a bit. At facebook I came across a fb friend's ( I don't know him personally. ) post. He is an artist and posted a photo of his slit wrist dripping blood on a canvas. He wrote "this is art". I wasn't sure if it was a joke at first but quickly realized it was real. The cut was very deep and there was a lot of blood. Other friends had posted replies to the post telling him to call 9-11. He wasn't responding though.

I just found out he is in the hospital now so I am guessing the police came in time. Several of his facebook friends had called the local police. This guy is in his 20s. He was posting some bizarre stuff recently. If he hadn't posted the photo he probably would be dead now. Of course, he may have realized that also.

Sorry to hear that... This world is getting crazier by the moment.

That sucks man.. glad the people on his friends list cared enough to make that call FOR him, if he was refusing to do it himself.

Suicide is never the answer. A couple years back my cousin hung himself..

Then about 10 months ago, one of my closest childhood friends shot himself..

I wish like hell they would have posted something about the way they felt.. They could have been saved. It really blows.

Sure, THEIR problems may have ended.. but had they considered what their friends & family would endure once they are gone, they never would have done it..

Some people just freak out & just jump to worst case scenario, without thinking about the consequences tho..

I dont care how bad things get. Suicide is NOT going to make anything better.

Its a permanent solution to a temporary problem.

Yeah, my cousin also killed himself also a couple years ago using a gun. Plus, just a few months ago, a young 20 student from Japan jumped of the top floor of the local Hilton here. I do some work for the guy who rented an apartment to the kid and we went into his apartment after and I was also there when the parents came from Japan to collect his belongings. So sad and unnecessary.

Seeing someone else we correspond with, either via cyberspace or in real life, try to delete themselves is a shock. It seems no matter how awake we think we are to someone else's misery, we aren't really. I looked back over and over again after a few suicides of people I knew and sometimes would tell myself that "I should have noticed this" - but in reality, there is often not much real evidence that someone is in trouble.

This is a sad case - but it is also a good one as he survived and will receive the help he needs to normalize - as long as he doesn't allow them to drug him right back into the same state of mind.
