Good question. I'll answer it if I win the lotto...which prolly won't happen. So I'll keep making moves.

I couldn't do that. I'd miss my gem-trails buddies and all the fun we have both on my website and out in the hunting fields. I might or might not quit the for profit stuff like ebook writing - but my rockhound website is more than a business to me. I've made a lot of friends in my forum.

if I won big, all that would change is that I would have the freedom to do whatever I wanted when I wanted. I think I would still keep busy - doing something meaningful - like helping people.

Winning a big lottery would ignite a new passion for living - and there'd be no reason to sit at the computer hour after hour.

For me, IM is an income earned in a way I enjoy. There are many more important things (to me) I'd be doing if I didn't have to worry about paying the mortgage.

I would still write but I would not be under pressure to write for people who don't value my work. I would only write to help those who truly need what I have to offer and what I enjoy doing. But I would not stress about bills and would be able to have a holiday (I have no idea what that is but have heard it can be fun.)

If it was more than 5 Mill then yeah, I'd probably quit.

Anything less I wouldn't quit per-say, but I'd probably either outsource everything or get a few employees and up-scale everything major.

The way I see it is anything more than 5 million, your pretty much set and wouldn't need to work, ever. Anything less, then I'd probably invest a solid 1 - 2 mill into a few businesses/shares/stocks etc and keep the 3 mill to do what I want with.

Heck no! I would have invested every cent (or øre) in my business!

Yes. But I would still hang out in OT - And devote the rest of my time to mastering music visiting loved ones, going around playing Santa Clause to people, helping others with their dreams, designing guitars, traveling... fighting for charitable causes and civil liberties.... and otherwise going out being buck wild with my best friend as frequently as possible.

Also, I will keep a few mill in the bank drawing interest and let money work for ME.

Since you have to be in it to win it then I'll never
    win.

But doesn't research show that most lotto winners die broke?
So they may end up on the WF again just as the money
    is running out.

I don't know if it still holds true, but a few years ago it was true. I did some research on the topic for a story I was writing, and of the cases I studied, a majority of them ended up worse off financially than they were before in a matter of a few short years.

Many were worse off in other ways as well. I remember one winner whose brother tried to kill him to get the money. The same guy later died of either an OD or suicide, I can't remember which.

        Nope.
I'd buy that sweet office building I've been eyeing on the beach.
Hire friends and family that are interested.
Give them all the training and tools needed to be self sufficent.
After they have success, then give them the option of doing the same or pay me back.
        Pay it forward.
And of course, Set up a trust for my immediate family
No more debt for myself or my kids.
        Then some serious chill time

Depends on how big my winnings are. If it were just a couple hundred grand, that's not enough to leave. But if I were to walk away with tens of millions of dollars after everyone has taken their percentages, you're damn right I'm walking away. At that point, I'm gonna just enjoy life.

I don't play the lotto... but I wouldn't quit IM if someone gave me a billion dollars.

Money is nice, but there's also a huge satisfaction that comes from creating unique products that make a real difference in people's lives. All the money in the world can't buy the feeling you get from that.

What I would do with several more zeros in my bank account is hire a team of full-time professionals, and someone to manage them all ... so that I could realize all of my product ideas faster (I have a LOT of them).

At that point I would probably cut back my own working hours to @ 10-20 hrs/wk (just enough time to brainstorm new product ideas and touch base with my manager a few times a week). And I would probably increase the number of yearly vacations I took, to say... 8 or 10 a year.

I guess I just have a strong work ethic, but I still have my I.M. career even despite winning the lottery several years ago. Once I cashed in my winning ticket for the $10 in winnings, I felt so bored with all of my free time that I wanted to work in I.M. again. Sure, the money was nice, but I love I.M. so much that I'd do it for free.

No, because a) IM is too much of a journey, and b) the lotto probably ain't enough.

The cashflow infusion would help me advance my plans quite a bit, though. That would be fun.
