This just proves without a doubt animals know things and some care deeply for their owners.

(CBS) -- A New York dog whose owner was hospitalized became so forlorn without his human companion that he ran away from home to find his friend, CBS New York reported.

Zander, a white husky, became depressed after John Dolan, of Bay Shore, Long Island, was admitted to Good Samaritan Hospital with skin ulcers.

And some people wonder why I love dogs? Mine knows when I'm on my way home and is in the yard to greet me if he's got means to be outside - or right at the door when I walk in.......without fail.

Yep, I can always count on my dogs standing at the sliding door waiting for me when I get home. Even if I've only been gone for 10 minutes they still welcome me back like I've been gone for days!

    Great story!

I have the pleasure of living with 5 dogs and their instincts, and subsequent behaviour, never ceases to amaze me.

Several years ago my neighbor's daughter loved a cat I had. When they moved away, the parents asked if they could adopt the cat. Knowing the animal would have a great home I agree to let the girl take Babee with her.

They moved about 200 miles away - and ten months later I opened the front door....to find Babee sitting on the porch. She was thin and fur was a bit rough but she had made her way back home. I guess I forgot to ask the cat if she wanted to move....she's still here with me.
