Anyone else have this problem? I have made way more posts than are being counted.

There are some sub forums where posts don't count like this forum as well as he WSO section.

Could that be the discrepancy in your post counting?

Stop that. You're taking all our fun away from us.

Hi Terra, I was wondering if you know the reason for this? There must be some logic to it but I can't think of one good reason to do this.

For starters, the off topic forum is where we primarily talk about anything and everything (within the rules, of course) not internet marketing. Therefore, they really shouldn't count towards your internet marketing post count.

As for the WSO section, that is where commerce takes place, the buying and selling of products and services, as you know. The comments within are usually testimonies, questions asked and answered, etc. pertaining to that product or service, giving value or lack there of to that product and service, not to the IM community as a whole. Therefore, not included as well.

Trust me, there are other reasons much more dubious than what I've stated, but I don't particularly want to discuss them.

I'm sure with a little imagination you can think of them if you concentrate on the less positive aspects of human nature and behavior.

Hi Terra, thanks for your response.

I understand your arguments for why posts should not receive credit in the WSO and off topic forums, but I would argue that many posts in those forums are far more useful to the IM community than the large quantities of senseless garbage that is found in the forums where credit is given.

          Just my two cents.

Haha! I can't argue that at all especially here in the Off Topic Forum.

However, those weren't my arguments, they were "the powers that be" reasons as to why the posts don't count in those sub-forums.

Blackman75: You have a total of 26 threads in your post count at the time I am posting this reply.

Here is a sample of some of your posts:

    1. I am wondering the same.

    2. I'm guessing the key is quality over quantity.

    3. Very cool.

    4. Very cool concept.

    5. ABSOLUTELY!!!!

    6. I would be interested in this information also.

    7. Vendor or affiliate?

    8. Any particular threads you recommend?

    9. Great question. I too am interested in the answer to this.
There are many threads on the WF stating that 'one line junk posts' such as the ones you made above, will be deleted.

You will probably lose several of these posts when someone reports these posts to the mods. In other words, your post count will drop. Quickly, dramatically and without apology.

The exception to this type of post is in the OT forum, where posts don't count toward your total post count. Here you can make short, funny or somewhat goofy posts that are OK, given the nature of this forum. And in fairness to you, some of your posts quoted above were made in the OT forum.

Every member of the WF is a mod. When posts are reported as being 'junk posts' 'one-liner post count posts' 'thank you posts' or any post that does not contribute anything of value to the discussion at hand, that post will be deleted if and when they are reported by any member to the forum mods.

What makes the WF great is the intelligent replies to requests for information, opinions, advice, recommendations and well thought out responses and evaluations to a wide variety of questions that are posted daily here on the forum.

Imagine what the WF would be like if all the members posted replies to threads like the ones you posted above?

I agree with you in principle about one-liners such as those you mention, I.M.Retired, but you will find many posts in the WSO threads, which are lengthy, quality posts intended to help people make good buying decisions, help them with their problems, etc. And these posts, unfortunately, do not count. I cannot see the logic behind this.

In the WSO forum, allowing post count encourages spammers - and when you pay 40 bucks for an ad, you should not have to deal with people posting just to get their post count up. Once you're here long enough a lot of the rules will make sense no matter how confusing they are to you now. Trust me on that one.

I was about to post the same question. Now I got the clear idea.
So, what thread should I post to get my post counted?
