OFF TOPIC

I just received a phone from a very common friend who just has 1 month experience about Internet marketing.

Here was our conversation,

Me : Hi

1 Month Expert : Hey, It's me.

Me: Yes, anything I can help you?

1 Month Expert : Nope, I call you just want to know how much do you know.

Me: Okay.

1 Month Expert : Do you know what is SMTP

Me: No?

1 Month Expert : SMTP is mail server... It's kind of system when you send your email

Me: okay, but my hosting company should have this kinds of service

1 Month Expert : You don't understand. It's very complicated. Some expert told me, so I am sure I am right.

Me: okay. so how much is this kind of service?

1 Month Expert : I don't know. But it maybe cost few husband.

Me: okay.

1 Month Expert: you seems know nothing, I just have 1 month experience, I am already better than you.

Me: okay. please don't call me again.

Then I tried to ask my hosting company, they said they support this service fully. It only costs $9.95 per month.

Come on, the real expert is the person keeps learning, but not the person keeps speaking.

What is an expert? It's just another level of proficiency...

No one knows everything there is to know about anything...but they can be pretty good at something -

I read somewhere, that the more a man knows, the more he knows he doesn't know. So I suppose one definition of an expert would be someone who doesn't admit out loud that he knows enough about a subject to know he doesn't really know how much...

In other words...I'm smart enough to know that I don't know everything there is to know on the subject.

(IMO) The term 'Expert', is almost as overused these days as the term 'Star' is...:rolleyes:

Simple Mail Transport Protocol. The protocol is NOT that complicated.

OH, it CAN cost THOUSANDS ****IF**** you buy non standard supersets of subsets from companies like Microsoft. MOST get it for FREE!!!!!!!

AGAIN, NOT what a friend would say! He didn't ask you what you know, and he showed that he had about a minute of superficial exposure to ths ONE minor thing!

YEP, it is EXPECTED that ALL hosts have SMTP on their systems. Failure to do so can render ALL customers unable to send/receive mail, so it IS important!

Everyone has their type of niche that works, you just need to keep tweaking the bells and whistles until you have just as productive conversions as your friend.

I agree with what others have said. A wise person ins one who realises that the more he learns, the more he realises just how much he still doesn't know.
