What's next for medical marijuana? Hint: it doesn't involve a match, pipe or rolling papers. Some of it doesn't even get you high.

In Steve Kroft's 60 Minutes story this week, we saw how Colorado has capitalized, literally, on its medical cannabis program. We also saw how the state has become fertile ground for a marketplace of unconventional marijuana products to flourish. And we're not just talking about pot brownies....

In CA I was able to get Hemp Milk. Hemp - not pot, no buzz. It was incredible. I loved it - and you could just tell it was healthy, One sip and your body screamed for more. There was also a hemp shampoo I used there and I miss that too.

I look over shelves of products with complete poisons loaded into them and can't get the ones that will do me the most good because of a non-toxic element? FTS. I'm so tired of that crap. There are a few people making laws and approving products that just need to be bitch slapped then put in the corner for a time-out.

Hemp milk is sold all over, at least in NY. I also buy hemp protein in bulk. No psychoactive effects, but it's a healthy source of plant protein.

I'm in Central OR and haven't found any here yet. Might just not have found the right stores. Hemp seed is extremely rich in Omega 3's and Vitamin B12. I drink it a carton at a time when I find any.

Pat - I dunno. I've smoked some of the medical up here and it almost knocked my lungs out. But I'm a lightweight. Don't smoke that often even when it's freely available. It's a nice touch when looking for all those beautiful agates I hunt, though - except you have to sort more "what the hell did I pick that up for" rocks out of the mix when ya get home.

Alexa - I'm thinking that Kurt is basically right about women being more against than men. It was our sex that is responsible for prohibition way back when. I'm thinking those that vote "no" are the ones who have husbands that do absolutely nothing but smoke pot and sit around -- and that is the MEN'S fault.

Oh yes - wasn't questioning that fact at all. (That's also exactly the same in several other countries for which gender-divided polls on similar questions have been available over recent years.)

Sorry, I don't buy the premise "MJ as I've never seen it."

Colorado's Ammendment 64 has a 5 point lead in the polls at this time. It will legalize MJ similar to alcohol. It's seems women are the problem. 56% of men support it, while only 40% of women do.

When I go to my neighborhood medical mj dispensery they have all DAT - frig full of several different flavors of chocolate brownies made with OIL - very different than dumping your stash into the cake mix.

It is potent and my favorite is dark chocolate (with chocolate chips).

They also have chocolate chip cookies, hard candies, sodas, and tinctures.

My favorite is looking at all the apothecary jars full of buds of different colors etc. Each one has the specs on how much THC and CNBs in each 'flavor'. So it is not hit and miss -

Along with my 'permit' for 1 year to have, buy, use, I also have the right to grow it. Too bad no place to do it in -

This pot even smoked is really different from street pot - I don't know how to explain it but it is smoother, cleaner, etc. (could it just be good karma from paying CA State Sales TAXES? LOL. or on the other hand, no blood money (cartels) or incarcerated, otherwise law-abiding 'merchants').

... and edible pot products are even smoother and cleaner than smokable.

I love my dispensary - lots of cute little guys that always give me a free fatty just for shopping there.

I have written a few posts about the HEADINESS (pun intended) of going to main street to shop for pot. I still haven't gotten over the thrill of it (and the joy of not being scared to death).

The TOTAL TILT was the last time I went, parked right next to the biggest, blackest plain-clothes police car - When I finished shopping, I opened my trunk, put my stash in there IN BROAD DAYLIGHT. Man, this is what I call getting high.

(and lots of delicious sleep - I can't get enough after nearly 3 decades of chronic insomnia - now I can fall asleep and stay asleep for hours. Changes your whole head space - sleep = good stuff).

    (in CA, not CO)

(but U-Go CO - legalized? wowie!)

Sal - I meant the high is cleaner and smoother - not the smoke.

Just less paranoid less anxiety - of course if I smoke too much then I will go both places - but with street pot it is almost a given - and that is why I had not smoked much for many years except on holidays - I got tired of being paranoid.

Part of it was the fact I was doing something illegal and the good stuff smells to high heaven ("skunk"). So of course that is going to make you feel paranoid - but it is more than that - it is very unpleasant - particularly now because so many things I was paranoid about decades ago have come to pass - so I know not all paranoia is craziness. It actually (can be) fore-site.

Something else to get paranoid about! Reality!

p.s. it probably has to do with less pollution etc as well because it seems most medical mj is grown indoors - that is the jist I got of a conversation where these guys were saying 'oh, outdoor pot' - - not cool - like we used to call 'home grown' or 'rag weed' (horrible).

Marijuana is not legalized in my country. But chocolate with mj? That's interesting.

I disagree heartily. A pipe is best for those of us with no talent in the fingers.
