The worst sound in the World...

I was woken up this morning to the worst sound in the World...the sound of the snow plow plowing my street. I really hate snow.

The good news is, it was only an inch or two of snow and should get back up in the 60s this weekend, so this white crap shouldn't be around to long (this time).

If it makes you feel any better I went swimming today and the sun was lethal.

    Ugh!

I feel for you Kurt, I hate snow too.

But man, if we had snow this early in the year, I think I'd cry!

This is actually a little later than normal for our first snow here.

I really need to start migrating, depending on the seasons. Even many birds are smart enough to go south for the winter.

        Haha!

If I could just leave my home, fly for free and build a new house with all free material in the south, I'd migrate too. :p

I think about that, too, Kurt. Winter has its charms though. There's something very special about sitting around the fireplace with friends drinking hot drinks and philosophizing.

BTW - when snow is on the ground, there is one worse sound than the snowplow. Silence. I'd rather listen to the plow than be out shoveling that crap on my own.

Jeeze, I love snow and especially fall. The whole atmosphere is different and I rather be freezing cold than in the hot sun burning... :/

Same here, Fall & Winter are my favorite times of the year. Baking in the sun sucks.

I miss the snow (grew up in northern Indiana).

I've lived in SC for the last 12 years, I'm ready to move back up north. You hear a lot about southern hospitality, but upstate SC is a violent area (not my style).

I've got my eye on a small family friendly vacation town in northern Michigan. I've vacationed in northern Michigan in the 90's & loved the area, boats/ATVs in the summer, snowmobiles in the winter.

I guess it's weird that I miss the sound of snowplows.

If you're a fan of both hot steamy summers around lakes boating, swimming, and water skiing as well as beautiful scenery while snowmobiling and water skiing, downhill or cross country, you couldn't choose a better state for that.

Lol at the steamy summers. SC is miserable during the summer (humid), Fall temps. are ok.

The last place I vacationed in Michigan was Silver Lake sand dunes, that's one of my favorite places for ATVs. The first time I visited those dunes I couldn't believe what I was looking at (lol), I think it's the largest dunes east of the Mississippi river. IMO, Michigan defiantly has the best trail/park system in the US.

That's why when it's hot and humid, the best place to be, is at the lake. The breezes that blow from them work wonders in cooling you down and there is always running into them to take a quick dip to wash the sweat off. Being surrounded by great lakes makes for pretty steamy and humid summers at times.

I love Silver Lake! Two summers ago we vacationed up north and went to the dunes as well. Awesome place!

Have you been to these? Sleeping Bear Sand Dunes

          Absolutely breathtaking beauty all around.

I've been to Sleeping Bear once, it's not a hill I want to climb twice, lol. It's a beautiful view looking out over Lake Michigan, but that hill climbing is exhaustive.

Aw c'mon, don't you want to have sexy legs? :p

Seriously, it is quite the climb and frustrating as at times it's like one step forward, three steps back. Grr!

I hate snow too, but the tornado sirens that went off last night about 1:20 AM rival the sound of the snow plow for unwelcome noise.

There wasn't a tornado though, just a wicked thunderstorm.

I haven't used one in years, but I do vaguely remember they aren't pleasant.

I feel you, the snow and ice can get pretty insane here in the winter. Just gives me another excuse to stay cooped up at home getting work done.

Funny how I wish to hear that same sound one day. I live in a tropical country so there's no snow here. And I would die just to see a snow.
