I just don't feel the desire to make a lot of money anymore

I'm the type of person that would rather recognize and deal with a problem right now than pretend it doesn't exist. So gents, I have a problem. I dunno what it is guys, I just ain't feeling it anymore. The insane drive I used to have - a burning desire to get rich that fueled my early online businesses and made me relatively successful just isn't there anymore. After shit happened and I was broke for so long, I just really do.not. feel the desire to be wealthy or even make much money anymore. As long as I can make rent and have a bit of food, I am more or less content. I couldn't imagine being happier if I was richer. I'm not going to pretend that I'm doing it because I am such a spiritually enlightened human being lol - I just do NOT feel the hunger for more money anymore. I just want to be comfortable and have a pretty easy life and just do stuff I'm interested in.

Anyone else out there ever felt like this? I know it's bad because having money + freedom is great and to be honest, I'm having problems finding the motivation to do anything I really don't have to. Am I depressed or is it something else?

Are you content with the amount you freedom you currently have? If no would money assist in gaining some more of the freedom you'd like to have? Simple assessment, but it always works! I fall into ruts like this from time to time, you just have to take a step back, remind yourself why you're doing what you do, why you'd rather be doing THIS than anything else, and maybe even take a break. It'll renew your vigor.

Not completely happy, I'm currently in school but I could certainly do with more. I appreciate the responses guys. I'll try to keep your feedback in mind.

So you've become a minimalist. Nothing wrong with that. I've had several periods in my life where I could have been called a minimalist. There are plenty of people living that way and claim it's the best thing they've ever done. Congrats.

You don't need to be rich to be happy.
Some of the happiest times of my life were when I was working construction and collecting unemployment all winter.
Very little money, lot's of great times!

It's easy to lose the urge to keep making money, might sound odd to some folks but it happens.

My advice, take some time off, do something else offline. Take a vacation, doesn't have to cost a lot of money, just something to break up the daily routine.

Do stuff you're interested in... stuff that makes you happy. Earn just enough money to pay your bills and maybe a little extra for a rainy day.

The thing is, you'll probably still have to work. If you can find work in a field that you're genuinely interested in, it can be rewarding even if it doesn't make you rich. Do you have such a job in mind, or are you willing to do a job you might dread so long as you can earn a livable wage?
