    I wouldn't want to be caught in a hurricane in that thing, Kurt. That wouldn't be practical all the time but for short trips to work or the store in summer it wouldn't be a bad thing to have.

      I wouldn't want to be caught in a hurricane. Period.

      The bike would be more than transportation. There's a battery and a motor that could also be useful after a disaster, and the solar panel makes it renewable.

      And of course the climate would be a factor. But still, there are situations when a bike may be preferable to a car.

    I'm sure an electric car isn't an option during/after a hurricane (If power is out) unless you have solar panels that aren't damaged from the hurricane, or your car isn't 7 miles out in the Atlantic ocean, or upside down in a strangers front yard 4 blocks away from home.
