Study: Even “BPA-Free” Plastics Leach Endrocrine-Disrupting Chemicals | TIME.com

In a new study for the journal Environmental Health Perspectives, researchers found that most plastic products leach endocrine-disrupting chemicals--and that was true even for products labeled "BPA-free." Scientists led by George Bittner, a neurobiologist at the University of Texas, looked at 455 common plastic products and found that 70% tested positive for estrogenic activity.

      Quite shocking indeed. You'd think at least BPA free advertised products would be BPA free, but I guess that's too much to ask.

      I'm worried about all this GMO stuff now too.It's everywhere, and many loopholes where it doesn't need to be labelled.

      They are killing our health from all different angles.
      Yeah, it is ugly. Now, plastic is used for everything. So-called "organic foods" (a lot of false claims in this too, I'm afraid) are always wrapped in plastic.

    I'm not sure why this is such new news over here. I lived in Germany back in the early 70s and they used to put their plastic on the porch at night. It was already known then that it emitted toxic fumes.

    Oh - btw, the Japanese have developed a soft plastic made of water. They haven't made hard plastic of it yet but were still researching it when I read that. Don't ask for a link - I read it over a year ago so just google around for it and you can probably find it.
