    Okay.

What's the thrill? It's not like it was binary or something.

As long as we're having fun with numbers...

142857 is something of a cyclical number. In this case, that means the digits always appear in the same order but the starting number will change when multiplied by any number from 1 to 6:

    142857 x 1 = 142857
    142857 x 2 = 285714
    142857 x 3 = 428571
    142857 x 4 = 571428
    142857 x 5 = 714285
    142857 x 6 = 857142

That explains the universe. Now multiply 142857 by 7.

Then try multiplying the number by 8, 9, and so on to see if you notice another pattern.

Just when you think you've got it all figured out, someone changes the rules.

Huh? You think doing math problems are fun?

I'm being punished I tell ya. First, I was blinded by a white blanket of snow on the deck this morning and then, before my coffee kicks in, Dennis wants me to do math!

We were forecast about half an inch overnight and got about 10 snowflakes in total over by Lansing! I'm hoping for another winter like last year...

Our forecast said there may be a random flurry, but no accumulation, nothing would stick. We only got about 1/4 inch, but it stuck.

Yeah, I normally don't like ugly, but I'll take another year like last, too. Everything dead in yellows and browns is quite ugly and fresh white snow is beautiful to look at as it is falling and when the sun shines on it making the flakes sparkle like fine diamonds or Swarovsky crystals.

But...I'll accept ugly with not much snow.

Can I have carrot cake? If that isn't available, I'd really like chocolate with that molten fudge stuff in the middle.

Quite possibly, since you ask! 21212 is also the name of a very famous, Michelin-starred restaurant in Edinburgh, named after the arrangement of options on its 5-course dinner menu ... "just saying". Restaurant 21212

Edinburgh is my favorite city in the UK! Awesome castle, art museums and galleries, and some rather nice whiskey distilleries!

Agreed, dead leaves and bare trees isn't a pretty sight (it was my FIRST sight of Michigan too way back in 2001). I don't mind a little snow, i just don't like 6"-12" overnight 3 and 4 times a week!

That said, i have a shiny new camera this year so i'm waiting for the frost to hit again to go practice

    Or number 9.

I'm not someone who gets thrilled over numbers. I'm just hanging out for the cake.
