If you ask me, the only ugly ones in this story are Feng and the judge!

I'd much rather be beautiful on the inside than out.

That is really weird and demented. I would love my child irrespective of appearance and would consider my child "beautiful" no matter what. In the same vein, I would hope that a goodlooking child would not be raised to be vain and shallow. Good looks doesn't last forever, anyway, and can disappear very quickly in the event of something such as a fire or an accident. That guy's wife should think of that 120K as money to free her from the rancid-thinking of a human-cesspool.

I don't see his pic anywhere. Wonder if he's as godawful good looking as he thinks he is. He has to remember that 1/2 of those kids genes belong to him. I've seen 2 gorgeous people having a kid that is just plain homely. There are no guarantees on what a kid will look like. If men are going to start punishing women for how their kids look, I would think that is a huge step toward population control. I sure wouldn't have a baby if I knew I could have the snot sued out of me if hubby didn't like its looks.

This man very obviously had other motives besides love when he married her - she was just breeding stock to him. She should sue him back - for deceiving her that he was in love with her.

Chinese culture is much different than the western world. Woman are barely a step above property there. Unless a woman comes from a family with money she's pretty much destined to work hard to serve men. It's no surprise that a man brought these ridiculous charges against her and that another man ruled in his favor. That's just how it is there.

For a long time (actually, this still happens unfortunately) the Chinese would literally kill female babies right from the womb if they felt more females were being born than males. Humanity as a whole still has a long way to go, obviously.

I know the culture is different - but there's a basic truth that applies everywhere.

The marriage began with deception as clearly the woman didn't reveal her past or her image-enhancing surgery to her mate. She married a stupid man who thinks more of appearance than substance - another bad move.

He feels cheated - lives in a culture that supports that view - and, as usual, the child suffers.

One judge in China supporting her ex-husband's view does not mean an entire culture thinks that way any more than a single judge's verdict in the US would represent Americans and the United States as a whole.

This is very outdated and distorted view about Chinese women today. The only thing that is true is that there are a lot of abortions of female fetuses based on ultrasound because of the one child policy. Sometimes, a few incidents happen in backward rural areas and that gets blown out of all proportion. As Thunderbird said, this incident could well be a complete fabrication. There were also press reports of people drinking soup made of aborted fetuses a few years ago but nobody could provide any evidence after exhaustive investigations.

If women are so deprived and discriminated against, why are there more self-made Chinese women billionaires than the rest of the world put together? I think most Westerners who marry Chinese women can tell you that they know how to look after themselves and woe behold anybody who steps on them.

Am I the only one who is dying to see what the baby looks like? I just don't understand how a baby can be that ugly. Because they are babies after all. All babies look like little aliens to some degree.. which is to be expected.

So really... whats the problem? Wait for the thing... I mean baby, to grow up? Then sue your wife. Thats what any smart man would do.

ps. I have a serious issue with sarcasm some times. :p

Well, the MOTHER started out looking like an alien!

But you're right. I saw a few kids that started out in acting a few years ago. One even almost played off her less than pretty appearance. NOW, they are both starting to look pretty nice. Who knows? ugly kids can end up attractive, and attractive kids may end up downright ugly.

As for the eye of the beholder? They spent nearly the whole episode in poor light and hiding their faces, so I guess they didn't like THEMSELVES either! Yeah, I know, EFFECT! STILL...
